@finalmind what you have to know is that Giunti passed beltoise pushing his car 2 times before the crash and on the third tried to overtake Parkes UNDER YELLOW FLAG which is forbidden... so everybody is responsible here, beltoise for pushing his car while not allowed, race crew fort letting things happen, and Giunti for trying to overtake a car whil under yellow flag, and somehow " forgeting" beltoise's car near the pit line while he passed him 3 times
@mouloudo As far as can be seen from the existing footage, Beltoise was pushing at the very edge of the track when Giunti passed him twice. By the time he came around for the third time behind Parkes, Beltoise had moved his car out into the racing line, forcing Parkes to go inside him - hardly any wonder then that Giunti 'took a look' around Parkes to see where Beltoise now was. Unfortunately for him, he chose precisely the wrong moment - I honestly don't think any blame rests with Giunti.
@buffscrag71 take another look at this video, you'll see that giunti is on the edge of the track while hitting beltoises car, imagine if Beltoise was still at this place like you pretend he was one or two laps earlier, near the white line, he would also have been killed

By the time of the fatal lap, Beltoise has moved out into the racing line, forcing Parkes to take an inside line. Giunti was simply following Parkes' line and cannot be blamed for 'overtaking' when he was wasn't even a full car's width around Parkes. He was simply 'having a look'.

I was 10 years old at that time (and a fan of JP Beltoise ...). I remember very well having seen these images (I mean this very TV report, I am french), and also the big trouble that followed for JPB.

I perfectly remember that afternoon in Italy : I was 11 yo and I was on the way back from the stadium with my late father.. we stopped to take some pizza home and from the radio I heard the terrible news. Giunti was my favourite F1 driver and surely a future ace with Ferrari... I hated Beltoise for that, and I still think he should have to be banned from races !!!

Grande Favetta ! Imagens extremamente raras ! A atitude do Beltoise foi errada mas compreensivel em um piloto de competição. Tratava-se de uma prova de 05 horas de duração, como ficou sem combustivel , tentou empurrar sua Matra, pois a entrada dos boxes estava a 200 metros. Foi suspenso das competições por quase 06 meses. Erro maior , na minha opinião, foi dos fiscais da pista, que permitiram que ele tentasse cruzar a pista, em direção aos boxes. R.I.P Ignacio Guinti .
Um dos acidentes mais bizarros que já assisti. Que estupidez do Beltoise, empurrando o carro pela pista como se estivesse passeando. Nota zero também para os fiscais da prova.
