I feel incredibly bad for you. You strike me as the up-tight traditionalist who takes pride in their perfect pitches and classic sound. Nothing is wrong with a "proper" feel to vocal music, but there is so little creative a cappella music being done these days that I find it amazing someone can complain so blatantly about such a trivial issue. Say something possible or cram it.

I saw them last night at the Institut Finlandais in Paris and they were excellent - and very funny. Sweet Dreams was even better live and the "guitar" solo amazing. Clearly their sound technician plays a role, but their ability was clear to hear. I listened to The Real Group on Youtube, but CF5 sounds better...but I could be biased...

One of the best acapella groups in Finland to my opinion. Absolutely great. I heard them live for the first time at Vaasa (Finland) choir festival a couple years ago. Uncredible male voices. They had e.g. a lovely version of the "Tummat silmät , ruskea tukka" -song sung originally by P. Koivuniemi. I hope it would be here, too.

I know these folks, have worked with them, and I guarantee you that Tuukka's voice has not been enhanced with an octaver. It's amazing to hear the depth and resonance of his voice (even while speaking!)

There are many acapella group, and I think they're one of the best in the world. I had 2 CDs of them. Great vocals. Mature techniques. Great mixing too on recordings.

It's so nice to know that there's a Club 4 Five. First met them in an Int'l Music Festival in France. Too bad I didn't get a chance to see them live.

Well ThesMes, I've sen them live numerous times, and I'm well aware of this mans very impressive bass range. I'm not questioning that at all. Just saying, that if you listen closely with headphones you can hear that there is a hint of octaver(or atleast it sounds like that) in the mix on the second half of the song. His hitting low D in the 2-octave all the time, and touches Bb1 a couple of times. The octaver adds a hint of 1-octave the bass line. Maybe just in the "moving on"-part(low C,D, F).

And now that I've listened this with headphones, I can say that this is soooooo good, and that there's also a hint of octaver in the basses microphone signal. It isn't audible all the time, but it's there. Atleast for the latter part of the song.

Uuuuh! Great! They are VERY good group live as well. ...and yes, the baritones microphone signal is very saturated with effects. With the vocoder kind of thing during the high backrounds and with distortion during his "guitar" solo. Very cool solo btw. Other signals are quite natural, except for the equalisations, reverberations and compressions ofcourse.
