  • A very good job on this. Thanks for making it.

  • quoting from wikipedia: "Historian Eric Hammel summed up the significance of the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands as, "Santa Cruz was a Japanese victory. That victory cost Japan her last best hope to win the war."

  • I realized that our navy was stronger than the Ecuadorian navy.

  • America, AMERICA$! America Fuck Yeah!

Coming agin to save the motherfucking day now!

  • Forgot something to say to all of you here,

first af all, I have to apologize.

For that some of my translations got visually screwed up.

Due to Youtube system error, when I wrote them down, glitches often occured.

That's why some of my postings were "comment deleted".

  • However, they were now unable to mobilize their carriers effectively due to aircraft shortage.

Retreat from the Guadalcanal was only a matter of time.

To both sides, battles over the Guadalcanal in the South Pacific have become a turning point.

  • While the IJN's carriers Shokaku and Zuiho were damaged, the US navy's carrier Enterprise was damaged, besides, the Hornet was lost.

In terms of tactics, the IJN won.

As a result, the US navy had no carrier available in the Pacific.

This battle, therefore, came to be called "the worst naval anniversary ever".

The IJN, on the other hand, still have Zuikaku, Junyo, in addition to a few light carriers.

In terms of naval aviation, they finally outnumbered the US navy.

  • According to Report, she is terribly leaning and exploding. Besides, her condition is out of control due to fire. No chice. Tell them my order to torpedo her. Aye, sir. She is all that Nagumo left for us. Give her the rest. October 27th, 0135 a.m. USS Hornet sunk. The IJN task force and the advance fleet respectively continued seaching, only to find nothing. October 27th, 1300 p.m. Kondo ordered the task force to return to the Truk islands. Having been supplied, the advance fleet retured.
  • Halsey, the commander of South Pacific Area Command, ordered to sink the Hornet with torpedo. 2 US destroyers had 5 or 6 torpedos slam into her, yet she remained afloat. More than 400 rounds of 5 inch gun, ended up all the same. Ceace fire, ceace fire. How's that? We've given her deadly damage though. Shit. Jap fleet! Full speed ahead. Hard a starboard. "Advance fleet flagship Atago" Order from GF, condition permitted, capture and tow the carrier. Can you see that? Yes, sir.
  • 1135 a.m. Enterprise's aiso suffered considerable damage, Kinkaid finally dicided to retreat. 1230 a.m. Having ordered Murray to rescue the Hornet, most of the fleet started retreating. Undamaged Zuikaku, having been protected by squall, started chasing for the US fleet. "Junyo" Junyo's 2nd wave torpedo-attacked the Hornet, which was being towed. Zuikaku's 3rd wave bombed the Hornet. Approximately 1600 p.m. Ordered to abandon the Hornet. Junyo's 3rd wave bombed abandoned Hornet,
  • Currently 31 knots. Report from radio room, communication unavailable. Have Arashi take charge of communication. Sir. Escape to the northwest. Nagumo forces had Shokaku and Zuiho, which were damaged, escape to the Truk Islands. However, at this time, the 2nd wave were still on their way to the US fleet. 1000 a.m. "Shokaku's 2nd wave" "Enterprise" "Zuikaku's 2nd wave" "USS destroyer Smith" 1119 a.m. "Junyo's 1st wave" "USS South Dacota" "USS San Juan"

  • . . . God I wish I understood japanese. This looks amazing.

  • Splendid.I think the most of the pacific war movies do not match this personal work.

  • Muy bueno su documental, en esta parte del mundo EE.UU con sus peliculas y medios de Informacion nos tienen desinformado, agradesco colocar mas material para desenmascarar a los yaquies.

  • i copied information about britain, darwin, malaya and operation vegeance

  • Coral Sea, Midway and the Eastern Solomons please.

  • this is very well done..i have a good collection of ww2 pacific material first print books with the real combat pictures ..this is about as real as i have seen it..its not for glory its about two nations solders fighting for their nation..its well made and correctly portrayed

  • erstklassige arbeit good job =)

  • whose ship torpedo the burning carrier?

  • @ncs2000 IJN destroyers "Makigumo" and "Akigumo", two Long Lance each.

  • to be exact the japanese's navy was really called the Imperial Japanese Navy so 4 short you can change your Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands (US Navy vs Japanese Navy) vids names to Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands (USN vs IJN) but with it saying like 1/3 2/3 and 3/3 you know what i mean

  • I don't believe that this is slanted; it's simply shown more from the Japanese perspective. This is no different from the many programs in the U.S. that are shown more from the U.S. perspective. And of course, this is very accurate historically. All in all, this was a GREAT job. If there is any better available, I'd like to know what it is.

  • a little too slanted towards the jap side

    but what else is new?

  • @pacoloco729 You have a feeling of scornful hatred towerd the Japaneze.

You are the racist and you will meet the scourge of God before long.

  • @sendaiueno thanks for the update

    just saying

  • Japanese version is excellente, congratulations

  • イヤホンで聴くと迫力がすごい!

    good work ^_^b

  • Amazing work! The best I' ve seen. I wonder Major Murata's airplane was crashed into Hornet or into the sea. He was the great commander of hte Japanese carrier-based torpido bomber. Does someone know his last minutes?

  • Whish I read Japanese.

  • BGMは「Mount&Blade」の??

    迫力がある曲だよね。

  • Very well done. And a merited victory for Nagumo after the defeat at Midway.

  • AWESOME!! Great job in the recreation of this battle! Right down to the finish! Intense aircraft dog-fights so well recreated. A great history piece I could teach to the younger students about the Pacific Theater of World War II. GOOD JOB!!

  • Amazing :D
