  • Hey Jeff, I'm thinking about getting the birdshead .45 Auto Vaq that Talo is offering. I was daydreaming about that gun stoked with wadcutters, and I see Buffalo Bore does have full wadcutter .45 Auto Rim, but not in standard Auto. Will Auto Rim fit fine in the slimmer Vaquero cylinder? .45 Colt runs fine, so guess Auto Rim would too, right?

  • The Auto Rim will not work in that gun.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks for the reply, Jeff. Very appreciative that you're receptive to most questions sent your way here.

  • I'm here to help!

  • these come with 2 cyclinders right?// Im looking at this and 325 night gurd S&W in 45acp! Did ya review the 325> smith ? marc

  • Yes, there is a review on the Nightguard revolvers in our Archive section on Gunblast.com

    jeff

  • you look wired

  • I am 100 percent wireless.

  • @quicklady I am having issues with my 45 flattop. Light hammer strikes and 45colt cylinder not allowing 45lc to cycle in the gun without dragging and opening the loading gate. very strange. Lipsey's is taking care of the situation though

  • i want this guys beard.

  • With the .45 ACP cylinder do you load it the same as the .45 LC? I'd think the expanded ACP brass wouldn't want to eject to easily.

  • You use moon clips with the 45 ACP. Please see the referenced review for more info & pics.

  • are those eagle grips the same as what's on shopruger . com ? The ones on Ruger's site say they are from Altamont. Same? Thanks for the video!

  • good reveiw. those look smaller in the pictures lol. have you ever tried the uberti schofeil remake? i would like to see a reveiw on that

  • I love the Uberti Schofield! Excellent revolver. Great design.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom from what i have read the only difference between the original and the uberti is the latch is stronger. still cant take hi pressure loads. i dont like high recoil anyways so its perfect for me. if you can get around to doing a reveiw that would be nice.

  • @Gunblastdotcom I need to get my hands on one of these! I already have the 50th anniversarry flat top 44mag and a flat top 44 special Bisley style. A also have 2 New vaqueros ( 1 being a Ruger exclusive convertable in 45acp/longcolt) a 44 spl sheriff model and 2 additional blackhawks. I may only be 27 but I love the "old style" stuff!

  • Sounds like you're a young man with fine taste in firearms!

  • I ditched my Ruger Vaquero .45 colt a few months ago in a trade. It was ok, but the forcing cone was messed up, and I had to have it cut properly. 2nd, the cylinder throats were all undersized: 4 throats at .4505 and 2 at .4510, so I had them reamed to .4525. Colt .45 prices are too high now, and I don't have the time to reload. Hopefully Ruger QC is better these days.

  • excellent review jeff - much appreciated

  • Damn it Jeff I am going to have to quit watching your stuff - especially Lipsey's exclusives. I have absolutely no need for this gun but it is calling my name!

  • @bugs19682 Dont bother with this gun. I went through 2 of them. The cartridge rims drag on the loading gate and open the gate while cocking the hammer. I own 8 Ruger S/A revolvers and this 1 is the only one that SUCKED. Getting it replaced with a totally different gun

  • Blue Smoke. Good Song title for this video! Nice review. Thank you for doing it.

  • very cool

  • 1 1/4" 5 shot group at 25 yard is simply fantasic, great video / review as always.

  • ur eye gettin better? great review

  • Yes, it is, thanks for asking.

  • Nice option to have a 45 acp good video

  • Jeff, you say in your write up that this gun isn't made for "45 Magnum" loads but 45acp +P are fine in it. How would you expect it to handle 45 Super? And would you need another cylinder cut for 460 Rowland or can you use the 45acp cylinder (I'm a wheel gun newbie if you couldn't tell).

  • I have no experience with the 460 Rowland, so am not qualified to answer that.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Fair enough. I know that the 460Rowland's case is a bit longer than 45acp's but I don't know better about revolver cylinders if they're cut to similar chambers as autoloaders or if it's more of a "straight through" design. It seems the Rowland cartridge has about the same power levels of typical, off the shelf 44magnum so it'd probably be a bit much for this gun. It's a sweetie of a piece though. You've got an awesome job, Jeff!

  • good quality video ... and a nice bit of steel to boot!

  • I really like the 45 acp option.

  • Hot dang! Those Lipsey's Flattops are awesome sixguns. Nice review.

  • THANKS bro for the info...great looking piece (it can replace the Vaquero I lost in Katrina) and THAT AMMO !!!! wow1

  • I don't know this Katrina chick, nor what you were doing to lose a Vaquero in her, but keep in mind that the sights on this gun are not as smooth as those on the Vaquero, if you two are still together.

    Jeff

  • Nice!

  • Gee, that's a snappy load!
