Now, on the political side, I think you need to refresh your history and realize that by staying only at home, you would have lost to those who didn't. US did the 1954 revolution in Iran and put Shah in power - for oil (read public CIA TPAJAX reports). The 1979 revolution was also run from outside. Long story.
