@felix242 but the western world at one point in history, as early as a decade ago tortured suspected terrorists. most were innocent who did not engage in any acts of terror. so there is a line even in the west by which the acts of torture will be committed when the line is crossed. if we look at these people from chinas point of view, they too are terrorists, causing trouble and unrest in an already established system which function very well by western standards. it is not about human rights.

If for one they made a law that says you have to treat workers well, then the companies that did so would go out of the business. Since the passing of the Mao Era, the Chinese government had been filled with leaders that had been through the cultural revolution and thus, had a better sense of empathy for the peasants. OMG what are you talking about. Seriously, my grandma used to practice FaLunGong before it was banned in China, and they were telling her not to take any medications! So when my grandma was found to have a tumors behind her ear, she refused medication madly, which almost killed her. Then it was our whole family forcefully sending her to the hospital. So she eventually had medical treatments, and got kicked out of the FaLunGong organization.
