It was on the net which doesnt make it truth but I met Dirk at comic con this year and he confirmed it when he signed my RUCKUS dvd, I didnt even ask about it and Dirk brought up how RUCKUS is his favorite movie and how stallone stole the idea/script from the studio.

Mr. Benedict's oversized ring, Nash Bridges wardrobe and Zsa Zsa Gabor enunciation of words allude to a car salesman. The guy was so great as sleazy "Face" because he is that guy. I love him though and want to see more of him. I thought his performance in the movie 'Bodyslam' opposite "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was bar none the most superb performance ever given in a direct-to-video "pro-wrestling action/comedy" genre flick of the 1980's.
