Alan this is very useful for creating good lower thirds or straps….it would be very nice if we could reverse the stencil so we can import a color ramp or the like
With your current method I still have to recreate the mask in the NLE if I need the positive image.
Can anyone help me with the .png image we need for the lower third. I don't have photoshop or any paint application that allows me to create a transparent image. can someone please reply here with a link to such an image?
Everytime i render the video and import it into my video editor, i always get the black background outside of the lower third and not the transparency. what Am I doing wrong?
Save *with* an alpha channel, not *as* an alpha channel. On Windows I use Lagarith or Huffyuv, which both are lossless and can save alpha. (Although you can save the alpha channel in the RGB channels in any format by just viewing the alpha instead of RGB and rendering without alpha. Hope that doesn't confuse things more.)
Nice video! But, near the end, you said you could render as an alpha channel? I've tried it with many codecs, but when I save the alpha, the particles look really weird, or else I can't save as an alpha channel at all. If you could point my towards a certain codec, or maybe create a tutorial on how to save as an alpha channel, it would be greatly appreciated. =D
