That is the east side rail road tunnel. look it up on wikipedia.
The East Side Railroad Tunnel is on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island. It was opened on November 16, 1908 at a cost of $2 million.[1] It runs 5,080 feet (1,550 m), under College Hill, from Gano Street to Benefit Street and is currently abandoned and sealed, but a project has been suggested to reuse it for either rail or bus use.
I go to Providence alot. I am 13. I used to go there with my friends and we used to run around and try and find eath other without a flash light and a boom box with freaky music! :D
I use to hop the trains from EP and ride through the tunnel to get to downtown Prov. Once I almost fell off between the cars. I almost pissed my pants! lol

During the blizzard of 78, I walked throught the bus tunnel under college hill. Sure wasn't going to climb up that freaking hill.

@gk10002000 this tunnel and the bus tunnel are two different tunnels under the same hill.
