  • A further simpler explanation space did not allow is that once the adapter and lens are aligned, all one needs to do is turn the locking ring on the lens clockwise until you hear the click. To remove the lens from adapter, turn the same locking ring counterclockwise. Both turning actions require some force. The locking ring is the large band in the middle of the lens. It is how lenses are changed on the Contax G cameras. Read a G camera manual on this if it is still unclear.

  • What he says is true as far as it goes. But what is needed after lining up the dimple and pin, making sure the black band focuses the lens in and out and setting the lens at infinity is to push the adapter into the lens and turn it slightly. When that happens, the aperture scale will work properly and the lock pin will be flush where it should be and not some millimeters short. In my experience this adapter has no play in it the way others do, something important with such short throw lenses.

  • Thanks for sharing, this is definitely either a design issue or manufacturing. I would return it... I bought the Kipon and it seems to fit well after a little bit of play with the 28mm. But when I look at the junction of the adapter ant the lense, you see the metallic part of the lense bayonette. The pics are fine but I am not crazy about the fit. Also, the focus ring works fine but not as smooth as one could wish.
