Great comparison, thanks. What are your thoughts on the Braun Series 7 720? It's currently pretty cheap on Amazon UK.

The 720 is the same razor, just without the cleaning base. All Series 7 shavers are the same, there's just differences within the displays and cleaning stations. I always recommend going with the cleaning station, unless it's a big price difference.

Nice one, cheers mate. Well, like I said, the 720 is £94.99 on Amazon UK (reduced from £250.00) and the 790 is currently £195.99 (reduced from £299.99), so a £100 difference. Will go with the 720 as I don't mind running it under the tap :).

If I ever decide to get the clean/charge system as a standalone item, do you know if the 720 will slot into it? Thanks again.

Someone actually just asked me that the other week. I assume that you could, but I haven't done it so not 100%. One other tip, Braun recommends that if you clean the Series 7 often with water that you apply some machine oil maybe once a week to the foil. They sell their own Braun machine oil, but people have emailed me and said that basic sewing machine oil works fine and is much cheaper.

Just got my Braun series 7! I used to hate shaving and not shave very often because I didnt like the shavers and razors I used. Now I like shaving and shave all the time! It is the shaver I have been looking for!!!!

no electric shaver will gave anyone a closer shave than a blade and if you can afford it the wet shaving style but if you have peach fuzz i guess electrics work

I own this norelco 3D shaver as well and watched Philips' video of it , and they said you could use it with shaving cream or gel, but are there any benefits to doing so? Also, how would i go about doing that?

Good review. I actually tested about ten shavers over the last 12 months, including those in this review and I also came to the same conclusion; nothing beats the 790cc-4.

Not only did it give the closest shave, it also was by far the most comfortable. The clean and renew system is much better than Panasonic's as it dried the shaver completely and it was as clean as a whistle. No, that would be hard, you won't get an even beard. You will probably want to get a beard trimmer which still keeps some stubble on your face when trimming with the lowest setting.
