BANFF GONDOLA RIDE , SPECTACULAR VIEW OF THE CASTLE IN THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

I took this ride with my wife a few years back. It was mid-May and the snow was thick after a freak snowstorm. A beautiful view and a lesson in organisation that in spite of the sudden snowfall the gondola was still operating and the walkways had been cleared and made safe. Had to be the greatest holiday with summer sun and winter snow together. We love Canada!

@geoff1945 hey Geoff, yeah, freaky snow storms can come up unexpectedly. I think we had the same thing happen in Manitoba. snowed in May 3 years in a row, we were camping the first time. LOL, the guys next to us were in a pup tent. they darn near froze.

I hope you had some warm clothes with you or did you have to go buy some warmer ones

@natureatitsbest12 - The funny thing is that it was brilliant sunshine. We arrived in Calgary on a warm evening and woke up to thick snow on the ground but no more snow until one day when we had a moderate fall for about twenty minutes on top of a glacier. When we reached Vancouver Island they were out sunbathing.

I did buy a scarf but that was it. Mind you we Brits always carry warm clothes in the summer. lol
