your painting is excelent and your videos really helpfull,i copied a couple of your demos and gained lots from it.Must say that the sounds of the city we here in the backround are a bit creepy
Hi Jos! Im one of your great fans and you really inspire me. One question, when your painting, do you use thick paint, or does it depend? Because i use dark color paint at the bottom and add a lighter color, on top of it, the lighter color just seems to get dark. In your case, whatever color you put, seems to stick on. Im having issues with this. Can you please advice? Highly Appreciated! :)
I mix up a few piles of paint of the colors I think I need in advance (eg back ground bottom, back ground top, shadow, light and dark side of radish). Then I lay down the paint more or less the same thickness everywhere... From your description I might infer you are using a 'weak' white, maybe flake white? Try titanium white..

what are you painting on? Canvas or wood?

It never fails to amaze me how an oil painting evolves. It's like sculpting with colors.

Josvanr, I cannot thank you enough for your daily paintings. They have been a great help to me. Are you self taught? How long have you been painting?
Cheers, CC
