There is no comparison between this magnificent version, conducted by the composer, and the more recent full-stereo version. Even tho this is old and monophonic, there is a particular "sound" that can never be duplcated. Unfortunately what is here is very choppy and not clear. The DVD is recommended.
This is a beautiful piece of music and the movie is fantastic

John Wayne is incredible in this movie.
I love the last line, "You've earned it". Brings the entire plot full circle after 30 years.
