I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but transmission lines and greener ways of generation are a completely separate issue. Even if the entire world switched to wind power, there would still be the need to build transmission lines to transport the electricity. Just saying...I mean, this video is bogus in that sense. Also, building more tansmission lines would lower the cost of energy since it would be easier and more available for transport from places where it is cheaper to gnerate.  Yeah...

The world's LARGEST turbines are manufactured by the Northern German companies Enercon and REpower. The Repower 5M delivers up to 5 MW, has an overall height of 600 ft and has a diameter of 413 ft. Now lets work out the math. That means that one of these wind turbines will require just under an acre of cleared land to operate. This would mean that in order for a windturbine farm to generate the same amount of power as a nuclear plant, over 500 acres of land would be required.

What will your quality of life be like if we have brownouts or blackouts? What will happen to your property values if you live in an area with poor electrical reliability? You will be the first ones to file a complaint with the PSC when the lights go out, won't you? Building wind turbines is cool, but you still have to run transmission lines to them. Be honest with yourself and everyone else. You are selfish and a NIMBY...

The NIMBYers are killing this country!!! We need more Powerlines, Highways, Prisions...etc and they have to go somewhere. Everybody wants...wants and wants but when it comes near them they say we don't need it. I lived in a area affected by the blackout in 2003. Bring the 765KV to the Northeast!!!!
