I would agree with most of you guys this is very dangerous - first off he's making one heck of a pile of turbulant wind in his kitchen - making hovering more difficult and dangerous - one clip from that main Glass FIber Rotor blade - (GF) frame is Caron fiber - as I own one of these. The head speed is way too fast needs - higher pitch slower head speed - way too twitchy and practice out doors in a safe area please - I have seen what these can do if they crash near you.
nice video & great flying! - great to see an accomplished pilot flying indoors - when I get my 500 built, I'm looking to do the same thing.
keep flying and ignore all the negative commentary here,
- mostly people just can't handle watching what they would really like to do..... but are too chickenshit to try, and prob. don't have the skills anyway.
I love flying indoors, - keeps me on my toes, and is good practice for learning the excellent control required for tight places.
This is obviously an old video, but absolutely showcases how slow some people can be. I have a 500 and it's effin scary when it's wound up. I have just as much confidence in my build as anyone, but you can NOT account for a mechanical failure. If a blade came off then what? Anyone watching this should know that this is the least intelligent thing you could possibly do with an RC heli!! Yes, you can die if something goes wrong. Big on balls, small on brains, sorry dude, thumbs down on this one.
@icerat4 -check out my short hover on my living room with T-Rex500 ESP.. I'm a novice, he's probably more experienced.
The 500-size heli creates so much turbulence in such a small room that that's it's not so easy to keep in hover, depends of course on the collective/cyclic settings also. I had mine N=engine 75%, cyclic +-12.5deg (normal mode, 75% power, cyclic 40-60-80%)
U need to move the sticks in calm wind, it doesn't hover by it self. Even more correction with small room & turbulance.
Nice video. Don't let the wife catch you. You definitely have control. How much wind turbulence do you feel? If you want absolute control, program the throttle curve flat with pitch curve points like(50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%). With such a small pitch increase from low to high stick you can hover millimeters! Keep on flying.
That thing doesn't look all that stable, It looks like you fighting it a lot to keep it one place, but you're definitely winning that's a rock solid hover.
Its a spektrum dx7 with dual recievers, cant glitch, wont ever glitch. if my video is up soon i hovered my heli and walked under it and pushed on the landing gear haha

@mxkristian
GF is a first version of 500. GF means Glass Fiber main frame.

I've had my 550 size Kalt Whisper heli for 17 years and have never done that with; and never will. Nice hovering BTW.

This is not safe! You have a nice heli there. Safer and more space to fly outside.

Of course the dx7 can and does glitch. Its pretty reliable but not infallible.

Yeah, they can make a £600 heli 101% reliable, but they still have problems with the real ones?

LOL it`s harder to fly this zise heli inndor than outside, "rotorwash" go out side NOW before you break your hous. ha ha

This is so dumb, why fly this size helicopter indoors. Go outside you idiot! Nice trousers by the way.
