  • That nasty popup is such a turnoff.

  • in this moment i become ah zapper fan

  • The beginning popup makes you seem like you're missing a brain.

  • Holy shit. Suddenly I can hear Frank Zappa when I listen to Sea and Cake. Magical. This guy is a legend.

  • nostalgia

  • All of side two of Apostophe....timeless...segways so smoothly...great this time of year. Looses alot on this tiny speaker. So much better with quality sound.

What a great mind and talent. Gone too soon. He had so much more to give. He always makes me feel better.

    Thank you Frank!!!!

  • @dogfooddean "segue"

  • uncle frank never disapoints........great live

  • One of the BEST LPs of FZ /for My/....

  • to the uploader: the negativity popup in the beginning of the video is quite disturbing to folks who came in positive spirit to listen to a good song. :(

  • @xianzaizenmeban I couldn't agree more.

  • would love to hear Sofa #2.......divan, divan, Du bist mein sofa. Profound!

  • Best line ever-" WELL THAT GOT ME JUST ABOUT AS EVIL AS A LITTLE ESKIMO BOY CAN BE..."

  • Who was singing along to every word from memory? me too :)

  • RIP Frank. You were a hell of a guy, an amazing guitarist and the best lyric writer around. who remembers him saying he was gonna run for President? I think he died the year he was gonna run.....

  • frank zappa was for free speech. whether that be talkin sh17 or talkin sh17 about the shi7 talkers. or talkin sh17 about the censors... especially that

  • que wea mas buena / fucking great song!!!!

  • If you don't want other people's opinions, disable the ratings and comments. Otherwise, you'll have to accept that not everyone agrees with you. Welcome to Earth and to adulthood.

That said, I am a fan of Frank Zappa and did not come here to diss on you, but I am also, like Zappa, a fan of democracy and of free speech.

  • I've been a Zappa fan since I first heard "I'm the Slime" back in the 70s. I loved it because it wasn't the same old crap you heard on the radio ALL the time. I almost wish there were more dislikes for this. You see, I like to know that I'm different from most people. If you are one of the mindless masses you should click dislike and go back to listening to 2:30 long pop tunes and watching sitcoms with laughtracks so you know when they're funny.

  • @tmor2003 So I love to see passion about good music in today's age where getting passionate about music almost doesn't exist. However, I think you should be happy to see how many people like this, because it should help you realize that, while everyone is different, Frank Zappa is a musical God and should be recognized as such. I was born in the 90's and didn't find out about Zappa until 2009, but as soon as I heard this song I was a fan. Just a thought, nothing more.

  • @tmor2003 the ultimate hipster

  • Awesome stuff.

  • What a tune. what an album. Saw Dweezil playing this at Brighton Dome and it was fucking amazing. Only recently discovered Zappa and can't believe I never heard his stuff earlier, loads of catching up to do.

  • Its january in cleveland and there is nothing more warmer than NANOOK AND ZAPPPA!!!

  • @dotothenn its January every where and Nanook is a naughty Eskimo

  • HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE ANYTHING THAT FRANK DID. WE ALL MISS HIM BUT HIS MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER, THANKS FOR YOUR POST

  • Whoever made the short radio version of this song should be stabbed in the dark!

  • I have Freak Out!, Overnite Sensation, and You Are Who You Is on vinyl... I need Apostrophe'...

Had a chance to get Only In It For The Money but the guy wanted $40 for it. (I got Freak Out! for free, from one of my dads friends.)

Oh yeah, I'm 15 Years old.

  • @friken0frank2 I need Freakout! I'm14 :D

  • ultimate super band. Ian Anderson, Frank Zappa, Roger Waters, Robert Plant, Jim Morrison, and John Lennon (before the yoko error)...

  • @gophullon Frank Zappa: Composer/ Conductor/ Guitar/ Lyricist Rick Rubin: Producer Allan Holdsworth: Guitar Jaco Pastorius: Bass Jean Luc Ponty: Violin Michael Brecker: Sax Eddie Van Halen: Guitar Chick Corea: Keyboards Chad Wackerman: Percussion DREAM BAND!
  • @gophullon tom waits should be up there too.

  • The reason we no longer have groundbreaking musicians is because of entropy of the human race. Its natural. We can still listen back to better times. I love this stuff !

  • Love Frank Zappa!! Haters move on.....

  • just recently started listening to a bit of this... been hooked on stoner rock for so long i thought id stick my head up n sniff about for something new. Glad I did.

  • one of the first albums i bought when i purchased a zenith sterep console in the '70s. another album i purchased was bill cosby's comedy album with fat albert. pink floyd's dark side of the moon was also in the package. talking about adak. the navy tried to send me there a few times but my wife got me out of that tour twice. zappa. can't believe how long he's been gone.

is his son still keeping the flame lit?

  • Father Vivian O'Blivion:)

    Heard this album 100,000 times.

Was USCG Radioman stationed on Adak Alaska when I listened to this album most.

So it reminds me of Adak...circa 75-76

  • RIP Frank. All I know is he's up there with my mom and others like, Mark Sandman,Stevie, Jimi, Janis, Jim C. and Jim M.+ many more.. I miss you Mom.RIP.

  • happy zappa

  • Frank where are you?

  • Zappa was a genius

  • OMG hadnt thought of this song in ages. Great memories and great song!

  • i hadn't listened to this in a wile and at the fade out i wanted to hear everything so i turned the speakers way up and held them to my ears. i completely forgot about the little run ruth dos and it was as if the laugh at the end was just for people like me :P

  • this is so gey

  • @NoMeansKthx68 way nore talented than the crap you listen to

  • @TheIllegalKind Obviously I didn't mean it, Zappa is a fuckign legend. Your band blows.

  • @NoMeansKthx68 whatever its different styles you dont have to be a dick

  • @TheIllegalKind I'm just impressed you guys are so young and have the courage and drive to do your own thing. Keep doing music

Never forget Uncle Frank Zappa though

  • @Ryomaslade45 never i cant play punk forever i have been lately listening to zappa king crimson and early genesis and early yes and ive been really wanting to play something different

  • Musical genius. you either love it, or hate it. I happen to love it. If you don't like it, then watch something you do like :)

  • How many "hits" an artist has, seldom has anything to do with the artistic merit of his/her/their work. In Zappa's case, few people ever bothered to look past his weirdness to see the genius that lay beneath. Their loss! He was a brilliant composer and guitarist. There is some of his work, that I don't care for much myself. (Some of it makes me scratch my head and wonder what he was thinking -- or smoking -- that day.) But the rest, I can't get enough of (like THIS stuff)!

  • 58 people haven't ever been high

  • @anthonyrbelanger Actually they were so high they missed the "like" button.

  • @anthonyrbelanger i haveny either but i love frank zappa

  • How can you even create a song like this!!Zappa will remaing for 1000 years.........

  • Very nice Christmas Song :) QC

  • @Quaaludedude714 what do you men

  • You know, not a lot of people I know really like Zappa. But, I don't think I know anyone who doesn't appriciate him.

  • frank zappa rocks always will be in my memory

  • Good God! Get off the bus! (If you don't realize FZ is a first class musical genius).

  • Frank usta fk'n rock....You didn't have ta put that huge disclaimer pop-up to let idiots know...

We came here to enjoy a master of twisted brudda..... :)

  • 1:59 Watch up where the huskies go^^

  • Love the Zappa. Too bad he had to leave us. Maybe he's playing the great Bike a phonic zylobongo reed wheel in the sky (:

  • Found myself doing the St Alfonso!!!

  • My first husband turned me on to him and I fell in love with him (Frank Z) that was in the 70's!!! and I loved him (my ex) for that F. Z. was (IS) TALENTED!!!

  • GREAT GOOGLEY BOOGLEY ! C'mon everyone Frank wouldn't dig the vibe that's going down here ! Don't dis-respect him like this please ! Now just for the heck of it everyone take a dog-doo filled snow cone and shove it in your eye ! Doesn't everyone feel better now ! I hope so ! Frank Zappa is a musical genius for those who don't know what they are talking about, and I see there is a few here too ! They're just LYRIC'S ! GET OVER YOURSELF PLEASE !

    Peace Out,

    Adam

  • You really don't need anymore, the splash slamming people who don't like zappa. I'm thrilled to have found the posting.

  • I was once working at a recording studio and was tasked with cleaning out a store cuboard full of shit. One of the first things i came across was an unmarked tape, I put it in my trusty walkman and it turned out to be this. My life was ever changed. Thank you Frank.

  • @Andalfe Damn, that's some major luck on your part.

  • @Andalfe Spectacular!!! What luck.

  • I grew up on this music, so I am happy to see it protected with the post. I AM one of the luckey people to see him live in the 70's. dont dis ZAPPA music. .............or I'll injure burrrrrrr you.

  • @soultrader3 i will help.onelonegre first

  • @ 7:55 commence the Ruth Underwood extravaganza. Play the intro to this song and real musicians will prick up their ears and say "Great Googly-Moogly!"

My personal favorite phrase = "what he's gonna do about his deflicted eyes."

  • @cptnspldng i mean 6:50 or thereabouts

  • @cptnspldng OK, BOTH places damnit

  • awesome :D

i wish that latin groove didn't fade out at the end though :O

  • DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVS!!

  • IF you hate this song, you must eat yellow snow where the huskies go... and enjoy it.

  • Zappa,Zappa,Zappa -fecking brillant.

  • 62 albums and only one broke into the top 20? No single did better than #32? Really, if Zappa were as great as you say, he would have had a least one hit beyond Valley Girl. Dexys Midnight Runners charted better than Zappa.

  • @junkemale22 Nonsence, to conpare Zappa with DMR is to miss the point numbnuts

  • @junkemale22 Remember "No commercial potential"? You really are completely missing the point: Zappa's contribution to music isn't to be measured by the fact that he had fewer No 1s than than the Spice Girls — if Beethoven were alive he would probably have even less chart success. The question is, who will be remembered in a hundred years' time?

  • @junkemale22 did you ever herd about bach , mozart, varese strawinski, berio, steve reich........fuck you and enyoi your mediocriti,..,..poor

  • just for lovin'

  • Frank Zappa is one of most influential men in music, he's done so much for music yet nobody gives him the credit he deserves, instead people think Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are geniuses

  • Its great how you linked the songs but please get rid of that negative comment, Frank Zappa above many things supported the 1st ammendment; the right to free speech.

  • see you tomorrow / today

  • listening is the only cure for a tin ear

  • nice annotation. YOU MAD

  • One of my favorites. Thanx for the upload. pickaboo

  • Outstanding upload! As too what it starts with... As Frank said, "Don't maul the afflicted." ;-) Thanks for posting this.

  • love this genius cant wait to see dweezil playing this on monday 21 november at liverpool philarmonic r.i.p. zappa

  • junkemale22 COULD? I guess monkeys COULD fly out of a racoons ass.

  • sure pal garage bands have horn sections percussion some of the best drummers on earth and the skill to make max use of them

  • Really, this isn't very good. It's just the nature of the song and celebration of bathroom activities that attracted a following. The production is clear, but most garage bands could produce a song as good as this.

  • @junkemale22 A garage band could never come up with, let alone play, all those weird time changes and jazz-fusion breaks in the St. Alphonzo part. Not to mention the wit and panache of Zappa's dream-logic narrative. When I first heard this song it actually saved my life, man, by cheering ME THE HELL UP, when I thought I'd never smile again. It was the first rung on the ladder up out of the crap and back into the good times.

  • @junkemale22 you jus showed the world wide web how fucking stupid you are.

  • 55 seal clubbers disagree with us..

  • I love this song, the Apostrophe album, and most of Roxy&Elsewhere.

  • …and 555 peoples has stinky foot. ° ZAPPA… Freaky Funky Frank,

    I love your Blues }:-o

  • the like bar looks like the blunt i'm about to burn while i hear this masterpiece

  • Who is the fuckin' moron here buddy, "your" is correctly used as a conjunction of "you are", thus, You're, would be the proper way write your diatribe against others. you A-hole. Who are you to call people morons when you can't even master the language or your birthright. Duh!

  • FRANK ZAPPA gugelimuu… was für ein geliebter Wahnsinn. Ich fühle mich gleich jung wie 25. Yeah, he's still the Hero of Joke

  • YEEEAHH ZAPPA

  • Rub it Nanook!!!!

  • It's amazing that he wasn't on drugs.

  • @bblanc825 but he kinda was...

  • 240p we meet again....

  • Who's up for beer slushies?

  • I think the reason I love this guy's music so much is that he can make me laugh.

  • a 100 degrees below zero

  • 55 people eat yellow snow

  • @lashagiorgiesebua May the deadly yellow snow crystals deprive them of their sight.!!

  • @lashagiorgiesebua THAT SOUNDS GROSS!!!! AND SORRY MY CAPS LOCK IS STUCK

  • Zappa is a genius! And full of humour!

  • swolfske stinkt!!!!

  • this is good stuff. i fuckin luv frank zappa.

  • Too bad he had to go...

  • Possibly the first Zappa song I ever heard.

    Possibly my favorite. ☻

  • @TheOneEyedHound same here

  • @TheOneEyedHound here too! there's something mystic about this song!

  • @TheOneEyedHound it was definitely the first Zappa song I heard, I think. Old age ya know, but it is definitely my favorite!

  • @TheOneEyedHound Threr is better to come.

  • @sniffy6999999 I like What's The Ugliest Part of Your Body, too. (:

  • For all the OWS... I hope they eat yellow snow !!!

  • Nanook uh no no...........

  • 54 Ritalyn kiddies watched this!

  • 2:08-6:45 best part!!

  • i love this song. at my parents cabin us men always had what we called "china-sea" outside the building where we could piss (as the toilet is only a huge bucket).

Everytime I went to piss there during the winter, in the snow, I was singing on this song ^^ especially "watch out where the huskeys go, and dont you eat that yellow snow"

almost fell in the yellow snow once ;-)

  • 53 people ate the yellow snow

  • 53 people are still stuck on 4/4 time

  • 240p we meet again....

  • @AntiFaithNY - sounds like 7/4 to me.

  • zappa is my salvation from the insanity of life. the instrumentation leaves me in awe eevry time I hear it =] If only I could post this on facebook without every single one of my friends writing "...da f*ck?" brilliance.

  • @Ohmihabibi tell yer friends to stop sucking

  • 53 people need to eat some lsd

  • aah, everytime i listen to this, i have to turn up the volume at 2:05... that bassline!

  • He's the Elvis of the alternative genre... so fucking good! Not as good as Elvis or as talented (clearly), but that was probably due to the excessive drug use (I know he never claimed to take drugs... but come on... who believes that)

  • @zegorgeous what the F does Elvis have to do with Zappa? and for the record, Elvis was no stranger to the D word...

  • @zegorgeous not really about the drugs imo, its not really the content is the way it expresses it that judges how good a sing is. Frank zappa is just different... but yeah not as good as elvis lol

  • @juslikejesus all i heard in that last sentence was... blasphemy!!!

  • it makes me sad that almost no one in my age knows who Zappa is. And I'm 19. I'm surrounded by mtv- and spotifytoplist-lovers.

  • Comment removed
