you can get upwards of over 3000 points if youre good and lucky enough to get the eye in the middle small from the start, just hang in close and shoot and youll be ranking in points(provided you dont get ass raped by a sniper when youre not looking, lol)
The trick really is to know when to use the forcefield eyes. When the big eye is making 3 or 4 hunter eyes at once, make sure you target one of those forcefield ones, get it a bit large, let it drift next to the big eye (while shooting it constantly, the big eye) and then explode the forcefield. The out going tracer things will damage the big eye and keep the screen clear for a while. You can do this towards the end as well and kill the other larger eyes without even shooting them.
I too thought this level was impossible the first time I played it. It's not, though it's very hard. There are several keys to winning. First as other have mentioned are the "forcefield balls" which will save your ass. The second, and especially when the eye multiplies are the flashing red enemies. They clear the screen. Forget EVERYTHING and just target them when they show up, other wise the multiplied eyes grow too fast and the level becomes impossible. Do that and you win;)
Also, knowing that you move faster when you aren't shooting helps quite a bit. Lets you get out of bad situations and work on the forcefield eyes when you need too.
The level is fairly easy once you get used to the patterns. Don't stay near the edges (you'll get hit by incoming enemies), stay near the big eye, and constantly move in a circle motion around it to dodge the enemies. Every so often find one of the "forcefield balls" and hit it so the field grows. When you get in trouble from a lot of enemies run to it and explode it (by shooting it 3 or 4 times in a row). That will kill all the enemies chasing you and should give you enough fire power to win.
Those balls with the forcefield thing, you shoot them with single shots and they start to grow bigger. Keep making them grow as large as you can then destroy them and then a lotta bullets fly everywhere killing everything. That's how I did it.

Tip- when you die and ress you become invinceable for a min. During that time go inside the eye and fire. if you get the eye to the smallest while doing this, you automatically collect the points it spews without having to go around an collect the scattered pieces.
Thats a nice way to farm for points. However, you can't get the unlockable if you die on this level (which is nearly impossible to achieve anyway). I agree that if it hadn't been for this level, EDS would be a million times better.
-Every time, as soon as the eye opens, go to the closest yellow blob, and shoot it slowly, for as long as you can before you have to blow it up or die. Every eye that's caught in the sphere will send out a blue seeker thing, and every time you hit the yellow thing and let it heal (stop being red), it gets bigger.
-If you get a big sphere with lots of "seekers" going out, just concentrate on the big eye.
can anyone beat this without dying?!? I am having the hardest time. I am usually very patient while gaming but for some reason I just flip out at this level. haha

I always love this level, dodging the eyes is crazy X3
the chains are a little hard to pull off but otherwise my favorite level, always knocks a few lives off to make the rest of the game harder.

I am dissapointed too, but only because I really want to play the whole thing and this level is just a ballbreaker. :(

Yes, This is much harder than level 3 should be. It's got a deep learning curve, but it's not impossible.

I like this level a lot tho. It's like a boss level. probably would have made more sense tho if it came later in the game given it's toughness.

Yeah I've beaten it without dying. It just takes practice and a bit of luck when killing the flashing dudes.
I didn't play very well in this video, but that was mainly because I was playing through a tuner card on my PC, which added quite a bit of lag.
