To be honest i dont listen to black metal at all, i hate cannibal corpse and similar bands. But Burzum....maan, this is really something, its the only band of this kind that i could listen for hours! Its so emotional. It touches you from the inside, your deepest feelings. Other bands dont do it at all, im not kidding. This is the only metal band that i have deep respect for. (says a guy that likes Radiohead :/)

@Excentryck Cannibal Corpse isn't Black Metal, it's Death Metal, well actually it's Brutal Death Metal. I like Death Metal just as much as Black Metal, maybe even more, but I don't like Brutal Death Metal that much... Only a few bands can perform Brutal Death Metal and still keep it musical, CC isn't really one of them, they only have a few songs that are good. I like Burzum, but when it comes to Black Metal I think that "the first wave of Black Metal" is the best.

I don't think it's brutal enough to be classed as Brutal Death Metal as now it seems in recent albums they have become Tech Death. Even when they were just beginning, they were only a notch more brutal than the band 'Death'. :)

@Excentryck Well, I'm glad you enjoy this. If you don't own this album, I highly suggest you get it! Also try out "Filosofem", and if you're into electronic music, try out "Hliðskjálf" too. Varg is a very talented songwriter with a great ear for melody.

Once you've checked those out, try out the first two albums (be forewarned, they're a bit more dissonant and less "soothing" than the other albums I mentioned; also the vocals are a little over the top).
