Where did find this tenor? My goodness... he sing likes a woman... where is the Italian Tenor?? The voice might be good for Don Pascuale or The Pearl Fishers... but not at all for this role... Joyce is just incredible! Sorry I do not like the Tenor... at all... when Joyce sings the Tenor voice is not there anymore!
Looks like they're haven't been any comments lately but I'll make one anyway. I heard Joyce in Atlanta (Spivey Hall series) in 2007 & I was absolutely 100% blown away. She sings circles around anyone else in the business, in my opinion. Long live DiDonato!!!
@DivaDeb1234 i dont think shes a soprano, she has discography with low Fs, and the way she can like belt out low Gs and stuff are very mezzo-chic. generally speaking, any professional female singer can sing high C regardless of voice type (marilyn horne pulled it out every once in a while, and ewa podlesh who is widely hailed as the worlds only living contralto who performs, has sung a high D), and though joyce pulls out stuff that high more often than most mezzos, i still think shes a mezzo
I went to college with Eric, and we studied w/ the same instructor (he obviously was much more talented and harder working. My 1st encounter with him was at a Friday afternoon seminar for our studio. Each person was required to perform a few times a semester. Eric also worked part time at a filling station and came to seminar in his work clothes (imagine oil changing shirt etc). He sang an aria right at the end and it was the most amazing thing i've heard still. So glad he was late and went last
Eric Cutler is hot no matter what weight he's at, and a hell of a singer to boot. Joyce, as always and in everything, is fierce. God bless them both for putting up with this career long enough to grace us with the artistic gifts they were given!
La Didonato is awesome as usual despite the ugly wig and the weird dress. This duet, however, is not as spectacular as her Rosina (Dunque io son). Was this her role debut as Elisabetta? Oh my god, I hope she does more great/serious bel canto. Btw, Eric looks HAWT! (Did he lose weight or what?!)

Eric Cutler does look hot! he appears to have put on some weight since this performance, as evidenced by his Puritani at the Met this season.

DiDonato is an excellent actress. Vocally I like her less but she's still impressive. Cutler needs more work.
