вообще то это мировая(чешская прежде всего конечно,да упокоится в мире яромир вейвода) а не немецкя мелодия,все солдаты возвращавшиеся со Второй Мировой пели ее на разных языках.даже был русский вариант(песня демобелизованных)

In the USA, at least the Midwest, where I grew up, this is called the Beer Barrel Polka. It is a happy song about having a good time. In German, it seems to be an optimistic song about some guy who is going to propose to Rosamunde.. The original Czech version does not sound from the title that it was that happy.

It was also a British WW2 song.

Rosamunde ist der deutschsprachige Titel eines Stimmungsliedes, das auf der 1927 von Jaromír Vejvoda komponierten tschechischen Polkamelodie Modřanska Polka basiert.. Modřanska Polka („Polka von Modřany“) war ursprünglich ein von Jaromir Vejvoda 1927 komponiertes Instrumentalstück. Vasek Vaclav Zeman schrieb erst 1932 einen tschechischen Text dazu, wodurch es in Škoda lásky („Schade um die Liebe“) umbenannt und mit einem Stimmumfang von C4 bis F5 versehen wurde.
