For many years it was on weeknights after the news back when Nightline didn't air until 12:05. Eventually, Nightline would air live at 11:35 and Cheers would air weekends at 11:35 until being replaced by 'The Practice' repeats and a couple of years airing as filler on weekend afternoons. Cheers finally left 'TAE about three or four years ago for WPGH/WPTT.

KSAT in San Antonio, TX would do that, only with another program, IIRC.
