I'm not sure how much benefit you guys are getting from this kind of thing. You offer 'weapon control' for safety, but I've watched a few videos now and I've really only seen a couple real exchanges of attacks once or twice. The rest of the time it's just circling each other and running in and out. If you guys used a little bit more effective safety equipment you'd probably be able to execute some real fighting techniques with reasonable assurance that you aren't going to hurt the other person.
For us is this way of fencing the best compromise between safety and weapon control. More savtey equipment would lead to harder strikes, which would seriously increase the danger of getting injured. We leave it like that, might ad an underarm protector on the right hand.
oh no i competely under stand having weapon control is key, but certainly there are more strikes tht reqiure more force and speed say to a counter attack or say block, and strike and perry and attack for both fighters i understand how you feel about saftey but to increase in ones technique u might need to do so and have a full match like you know something along the lines as a kendo match at least you can have faster and strikes and some proctevive gear

Although this is interesting, I wish you guys would go a lot more aggressively like as if you were clashing against each other in a battlefield.
I know you guys are sparring, but I would like to see a fight where it is settled in a couple of seconds.
