  • hello :)

first of all thank you for your video :D

may i have a question if you don't mind, i'm an amateur photographer and i have cheap camera and lens. I also do portraits :)

my sister is a teacher in my country (i'm a foreign worker) and she told me if i want to be the school photographer you know doing school i.d. and year books but i don't know how to start that. what equipments i must have to get that job or to impress others?

    hope you can help me:)

Have a great day and God bless :)

    duke

  • Thank you for your video. I am just starting out and it has been difficult to find info about the kind of equiptment needed to get started. Thanks!!!

Also, what type of background material do you use?

  • @RNAWAYMAMA I have a mix of paper and cloth backdrops. I prefer working with paper, but it is not nearly as portable as working with cloth

  • Wait.. you trigger your alienbees using cls?! I thought you could only trigger nikon flashes with a cls popup flash.. :/

  • @TzumB The Bees can be triggered optically with a Nikon speedlight or popup flash set to manual. Anything that gives one flash burst (like a Nikon set to manual) can be a trigger for many strobes, Alien Bees included.

  • @TheSnapChick Nice!! Definitely did not know that! ^____^

  • @TzumB The only issue would be if you were working around other photographers... their flashes would trigger your strobes and it would be a real light show!

  • that was a nice video btw

  • for holding my lights (flashguns (i use flashguns) not studio strobes like the alien bees or the elinchrom) i use multiple strobes (i have 6 of them) wich are preatty nice, i use lightstands with an umbrella adapter and maybe use an shoot trough umbrella or a relfective umbrella or softbox or simply to hold a reflector or a bare bulb..(maybe to give an hairlight)

to trigger my flashes i use radio triggers which works wonders

and because of it an i like to use all of the flashes in manual mode

  • @mixmaxdix Make us a video! :)

  • please do not buy crappy 40 dollars tripods...

the fall apart more sooner that you will think and they are flimsy and not good even for a starter cause soon you will end up to buy another one... just buy one of those with a head and tripod legs separated. which are much more solid... Sure if you are thinking in put a point and shoot there or a flashgun it works great but not a dslr in general...

  • @mixmaxdix Cheap works fine for me, as I do not use them in the field. I last used/needed a quality ballhead in the field about 5 years ago, so I rented one.

  • i like!

  • WOW, a new video :-)

    5 Stars for you..
