Its a well known fact that democracy only works if it has an educated electorate. People are debating this? Democracy has many flaws...like dumb asses voting in retards to office, but its the best form of government we've got.

@csbob2010 Yes, US has democratic voting system. However, we must remember that the US is a republic, based on the constitution and congress should not be able to write a law that is unconstitonal. If the consitution would be upheld as it was intended, it would be impossible for the politicans to come up with a lot of the stupid laws we got right now.

@RiktigPolitik The constitution can be interpreted in many ways. People disagree on how it was 'intended'. If it was clear about the intentions then their would be no room to argue about it. The creators of the constitution couldn't have foreseen hundreds of years in advance to prevent this from happening. I'm also not under the delusion that the constitution and/or founding fathers are infallible. Its up to the courts to define what is constitutional, even that varies by opinion.

The "vote" of the mob; Isn't US of A a republic? If you pay taxes, you can vote, not if you are 18.

The politician always twist and turn the answer that why young people got confuse and don't understand what are they doing. So they only got a choice of a devil or a Satan.

I agree that people should vote either yes or no when they have measures and initiatives on the bill, but in terms of voting for politicians, I think it should be optional. Someone shouldn't be forced to vote for someone that he or she doesn't think can do the job.

There is no argument. If people are uninformed, or just plain dumb & stupid, they should simply not vote. Wait a minute ,,, I have a better idea. For those who don't know anything about the candidates, the issues, or even who the candidates are, have them tack the ballot on the wall, then throw darts at the ballot. Wherever the dart hits, that will be their vote.

If you do not know politics, then please do not vote. It's sad that political morons are encouraged to vote and then we wonder why we have again elected morons to run our country? I must admit that these political insiders are very good liars and it is not suprising newbies are decieved, especially since they got an expensive campaign and full backing by the mainstream media. These politicans don't represent you, but the political elite!
