aside from his tone and feel, andy does these little things in his lead that i have never heard any one else do .its enough that i could pick him out of a thousand players
@stevegrierson Not all the time. I know it sounds cliche, but a huge majority of tone is in the fingers. How hard you attack, the pressure you put on the strings, the pick you use, the style of vibrato you use, etc.
an e-bow not only gives a little more sustain but the great thing about it is that it takes away that sound when you strike a string, so the sound more swells in and you dont hear the attack
I play guitar for 23 years on and I am crying - will never touch this great playing. Never heard uninspired soloing from Andy - everything makes sense... just great
@raperrocker I love how when some people comment on youtube they think it's required to complement the artist they're viewing, and yes that get get you a response faster, but still, it's not necessary. If you've got a question, ask. You might look, sound and seem stupid, but you get to know what you want.
@ShadowLancer128 Hey I have written it not because I wanted to get faster an answer....I googled and I have found what's the devise is called.....=) I wrote it because I really think this is so)
@pixel4u no. It's not a magnet, it's called an e-bow, it's a ultraviolet light emitting device that shoots u-v rays at the string and causes them to vibrate evenly like how a bow effects a violin/viola/cello etc.
@wedge070 it's an ebow (or e-bow), though he really doesn't need it anymore, now I think he uses his stage monitor to produce feedback in order to get that kind of sustain.
You definitely have a lot of experience and knowledge in music, and generally understanding the value of playing through feelings, and not just technique
@pixel4u Learning scales and theory doesn't mean you can't play from the soul, it only means that you'll learn a bunch of things quickly instead of spending years on trial and error. Not saying it's bad to learn by doing, but at least that's what I've gotten from the not so many hours I've spent on theory; I get where I want faster.

I almost know nothing in theory, and play only from soul.

@pixel4u I guarantee that Andy knows quite a bit about theory. You don't lose any feeling by learning more about your instrument
