I'm a member of NCSE. If you're tired of cursing the darkness of creationist nonsense, thirty five bucks a year to join NCSE (Google it) is a good way to take action against the fundies and their harmful superstition.
We love you, Genie! Thank you for all of your efforts to keep religion out of science classes.
...if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
@JungleJargon ofc duplication of information is new information. as ALL kids know.
The variation cannot occur if there were limits. therefore there are no limits.
I am saying things written at the Molecular biology of the cell, 5th edition. now...what sources are you using? oh right: none. you are just making stuff up.
i exist because of sexual reproduction, an evolved trait. there is no evidence for design. you are JUST full of shit.
@transtlantic If you duplicate "Jack and Jill", it'll be the same old story.
You can't mutate nothing. You have to have preexisting working design to change it.
Exactly, varriations cannot occur where there are limits and the genome is limited by limited orders.
You are saying nonsense and insisting that it's a good thing.
Once upon a time, it was beneficial to have male and female so one genome ordered a male and the other genome ordered a female to keep company for the male *without* sex.
@JungleJargon if you duplicate genes in the genome, that won't be the same "story", because the genotype is now expressed twice, creating a different phenotype. ergo the importance of the number of alleles that you have for each gene. Thalassemic disorders are proof that you are wrong.
i can mutate a lot of things. ALL things with DNA or RNA mutates. there is no such thing as "design": you are JUST full of shit.
lol this woman keeps using the word "science". What in the FUCK is she talking about? lol... that is so goddam general. She sounds like a blathering idiot. We need to know "science"???? Did you know that the word science comes from the latin word for knowledge? So you're saying we need to know knowledge? YOU'RE A FUCKING QUACK, LADY. Stop trying to build yourself up as being some kind of God of the universe because you have a phD in something no one but you and your colleagues give a SHIT about.
@imnotdavidxnsx What is your definition of science then? What did you gain from this interview from this crusty, old, rarely (if ever) penetrated woman?
Yeah... so i was waiting for the bad part of this video which would explain the 1:1 ratio of likes and dislikes, and then it got to the end and it was all beautiful. Then, i scrolled down, and saw the explanation: creatonist vote bots. I mean cmon... love they neighbor, creationists! dont go vote-botting!
TV doesn't help either, over here in the UK we had another one of those "We've found the missing link" documentaries, it misleads to suggest the idea of a single missing link.
@ninjatoothpaste : It is even more misleading to suggest that there are any links missing. The record is complete. Not by means of fossils, but by means of molecular biology. We can deduct the phases of evolution by looking at DNA and proteins with as much detail as we wish to. There are no more missing links.
Yeah, that was a Carl Sagan type belief. He said that the laws and overall properties being created is one thing....but to imagine a tall caucasian man in a robe carefully keeping track of all the thoughts you have and actions you take is THE most ludacris and one of the most dangerous beliefs in the history of human thought.
Scientists do not pontificate, they are not priests or popes. Theory of evolution evolves (surprised?). In XIX century, fossils were the best they had. Nowadays there are better and stronger tools, as molecular biology, which support the Theory.
If you wish to disprove something you ought to understand it cause if you don't, you just seem ridiculous.
This is the most laughable blunder of the creationist argument. That they're too stupid to understand that speciation is not a set of discrete steps a, b, c, and in between them there are stranger intermediate forms which bridge a supposed gap.
Speciation is gradual and continuous, and any species which is the ancestor of any other species is an intermediate.
Realize that forcing certain policies on the government is one of the worst things a Christian could do to *themselves and their Faith*. You want to "mix" with government-- bad idea. Government is corrupted. Put some *value* on your Spirituality, for cryin' out loud.. Why would you poison your religion like that? Prayers said in schools would be generic and penned by the government. You'll be pulled further away from God the more you push your way into government.
The US clearly feel to lead the Jesuit 4th Reich: shouldn't you guys know even a little about the people you're genocidally terrorizing beyond dehumanized charicatures conjured up by global pirates?. Saddam shot and wounded democratic Iraq president Salam in 1966 for the CIA. They train all the terrorists. Albert Pike planned 3 world wars 150 years ago.
Dogma IS religion; hypnotizing kids with one view is thought-fascism. What are NETs afraid of if their truth is the best truth?
Please, check out John Taylor Gatto State Education on video.google. Also, please, look at AIDS the HIV Myth, not for any other reason than to see what happens to even top TOP scientists when they ever challenge the big-money, big-pharma, big-petro view. Listen eg microbiology professor Dr Veith From Evolutionist to Creationist for a heart rendering story of same (I don't condone his religion, but his personal testimony is true). Check out John Cairns lactose bacteria study for another.
05:21 OMFG unbeforkineavable: The CONSTITUTION guarantees NEUTRALITY, she says, while arguing that this means EXLUSION OF ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T SUIT YOUR JESUIT COLLECTIVIST IDIOT STATE PROGRAMED DARK EMPIRE DRONE BLINKERED AND BIGOTED WORLDVIEW.
Did it EVER occur to this lump of deathmongering manure that THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEES FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND FERTILE DISCUSSION OF ALL HUMAN AFFAIRS YOU FASCIST PUKE?
Baaaaaahahahahahaha! "THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEES FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND FERTILE DISCUSSION OF ALL HUMAN AFFAIRS YOU FASCIST PUKE?" Not in a public school, seeing as there is also that wee little bit in the constitution that deals with Separation of Church and State. Calm yourself.
Thanks for the mature response limbopete, your a gentleman.
This wee 1st Amend. bit:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
? Because that seems to be the only bit people use in favour of the 'separation' idea, and it says you must allow religious expression?
It means that the government cannot infringe upon, OR ENDORSE, religion with it's laws. It would prohibit the free exercise of my religion if I was forced to learn someone elses. Science class is a place where we learn about the natural world. There is only one natural world, i.e. reality. It is patently absurd to suggest that we should let children pick which way they think the natural world works.
Cheers, ok, but it says 'prohibiting..' not 'endorse'...
OK, who wanted a life story. Point being: do I thank them for restricting my vision all that time? Was it towards building a healthy human, like one nourishes a plant with all the best nutrients and conditions and care to make it a shining example? Or was it merely to ensure I was likely to turn out a pseudo-rationally subjugated dark empire serf?
Is there some kind of danger associated with allowing children a lego-set of worldviews????
"Is there some kind of danger associated with allowing children a lego-set of worldviews????" That is a false question. ID is not promoting wider "world views", and if they were it STILL would have no place in science class. Again: It is absurd to simply let children pick from a variety of ways in which the universe works.
If the government puts ID into government-run programs then the government is making a law in respect to an establishment of religion, because ID is religious.

Natural Evolution Theory is an idiotic religion that supposes:
1. Matter exists and can move at 'Ra-Ndom', when E=mc2 proves it isn't, and every law of physics proves it can't.
2. There is no metaphysics, when every theory of modern physics for the last 100 yers understands full well that this physical universe came from beyond the physical.
"Natural Evolution Theory is an idiotic religion that supposes: 1. Matter exists and can move at 'Ra-Ndom', when E=mc2 proves it isn't, and every law of physics proves it can't. 2. NONE of that makes ANY sense.
I don't live here dude. And you keep switching frames: my point was MULTIPLE WORLDVIEWS ARE NECESSARY IN SCHOOL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING AND CULTURAL COOPERATION. Yours seems to be: only allow NET interpretations in the SCIENCE classroom.
And don't be a shithead: PHYSICS HAS PROVED THAT SPACE, TIME AND ALL 'MATTER' CONSIST OF ONE SINGLE UNIFIED ENERGY FIELD and that ALL of it had A BEGINNING. It may be impossible to fully understand, but its true nonetheless.
wtf are you even rambling about? Science teaches the BEST explanation based upon the EVIDENCE. "world views" and "cultural cooperation" have little/no place in science. You can't seem to grasp this. Science isn't some simple democracy, and not all ideas are created equal. "PHYSICS HAS PROVED THAT SPACE, TIME AND ALL 'MATTER' CONSIST OF ONE SINGLE UNIFIED ENERGY FIELD" Um..... no? What the fuck are you talking about? Time isn't even a tangible physical force. Sweet jeebus.
WTF, didn't you get my last post: I'm talking about education, a BROADER thing than just SCIENCE! However, what you call 'science' is suberted at every stage, and we are inculcated from very early on, and you are stuck in the brainwashing. Arrogantly so one might add. No energy: no time. Pretty obvious, why do you make youself hard of thinking?
"WTF, didn't you get my last post: I'm talking about education, a BROADER thing than just SCIENCE" ???
The creationist/ID folks have focused their efforts almost exclusively on inserting religion into science class. Unfortunately it's like water and oil- they just don't mix.
After reading your posts, your thoughts & your personal page, I now appreciate where you are coming from. I have only one piece of advice, do not allow ANYONE to use electroshock therapy. Forrest Gump said it best circa 1995, "crazy is as crazy does". Point being, though you may appear to be bat shit crazy, unless you act bat shit crazy you do not need anti bat shit remedies.
Good luck to you & your belief in Superman, er ahh, "god".
it's feasable that a God set the ground rules in terms of biological and physical law, and then let the train loose around the track. But claiming that all animals were created as you see them now is lunacy at best, and stupidity at worst.
You have long lost the use of your constitution under the Corporation of the United States, you angry slave. And they don't call it EMPIRE science for nothing. DO YOUR RESEARCH you incredibly gullible drone! Go to my webpage and work through some of the video.google references. I DARE you to EDUCATE YOURSELF.

I love science, always have. What I don't like is people who confuse hypothesis and interpretation with evidence and summary. Scientific research mostly depends on government funding. The governments have long since been subverted from the inside. Every research fellow knows that the establishment want to hear evo, and if you mention anything that contradicts, you're out. That's why, one e.g. among thousands, they renamed the Global Rift to Mid-Ocean Ridge, to detract from catastrophism.
Scientists are busy prodding evolution for inconsistencies all the time. Finding mistakes and correcting them is what peer review and validation is all about.

"if you mention anything that contradicts, you're out." No
I refuse to argue about your conspiracy bullshit
go eat a bowl of dicks, Enjoy your stupidity, have a nice day. (you propably think you've won because I started to use insults but you discust me so much that I don't even care.)
i pity those who dont realise the implications for denying somthing as fundimental as evolution. YOu have to deny such basic things such as, anatomy ect, and the techniques used to proved evidence for evolution are the same techniques used to keep rapists and murderers off our techniques.
some people really dont realise those implications

04:52 SWAFM: 1. Creation is crap based on illusion. 2. If anyone even so much as MENTIONS it, it will convert all the idiot sheeple?????
UNBELIEVABLE hypocracy.
EVOLUTION IS A RELIGON OF THE IMPOSSIBLE GOD OF RA-NDOM, PRETENDING THE WORLD IS A SCALED-UP BILLIARD GAME, ignoring that SCIENCE HAS INDUBITABLY PROVED that one single force upholds all that exists.
Biology is subordinate to physics you cowardly lying squirming intellectual-cardboard-city dwelling rot.
I feel I should point out that, technically speaking, all fossils are transitional fossils (excepting, of course, for extinction or things like sharks). I also feel that I should point out how deeply misunderstood the process of fossilization is. Things don't just fossilize all the time. It requires very specific circumstances. And even fossils don't last forever.
all religions are identical: some pointless rubbish about some greater being making stuff with no evidence to support it. Then they say it is really bad to think for your self and to get a nice comfy seat next next to this creator dude you must remain ignorant and not think. Then they say that if you think, and dont remain a complete drone of ignorance you get punished somehow.
You can believe whatever theories that you want. That is the nature of free will. However, do not attempt to use my hard-earned tax dollars to indoctrinate my children with your extreme left wing ideology via the public education system. It is acceptable to offer a theory but altogether dishonest and dangerous to promote that theory as FACT.
99,9999% of the scientific community is the extreme left wing? Well that's a daring assumption.
You do not understand the nature of 'fact' and 'theory' in science. They are not contradictional. A theory is a construct that binds all taken fact into a plausible context to describe and explain the nature of existence.
Since evolution has been put to test long ago, all gathered facts support it. There are blank pages and not everything has been understood, but no one has ever made an sucessful scientific attempt to prove it untrue.
If you allow crationism to be taught as "science" in school, you can teach Astrology, Witchcraft and Nazi race theories as well, as they are non scientific beliefs referring to supernatural phenomena.
Woops, I shouldn't say "your" book since you stole it from the Jews, who are somehow smart enough to know the difference between fact and allegory. I have NEVER heard a Jew claim that the story of Noah is literally true, or that a global deluge ever occurred. Why is that?
Why, indeed, are there no museums in Israel that show men and dinosaurs cohabitating the planet 3000 years ago?
Like the literal belief that all living animals today descend from those that were gathered on a wooden vessel built by a Jew in preparation for a global catastrophe. By the way, were there 2 of each or 7 of each? Your book seems to contradict itself.
It's a far better explanation thatn the evolutionsist's proof - the fossil record!
What? No transitionary forms? Oops!!
P.S: No such thing as Jews during the time of Noah. And there was I thinking that it was only us knuckle-dragging, flat-earth-believing, anti-science, bible bashers that were ignorant!
Arrrrrgggghhhh! Every fucking creationist asshole has asked me to provide a transitional fossil. Why can't people do their own fucking homework?!
For the eight billionth time. Archaeopteryx links birds and dinosaurs. Australopithecus afarensis link apes and humans. Tiktaalik links fish and amphibians. Fucking assholes don't even bother looking for evolution's evidence. They just bitch from ignorance.
Hilarious! Even Stephen J. Gould discounts Arcaeopteryx as a transitional form, terming it nothing more than "a curious mosaic".
Regarding australopithecines, Cartmill, Pilbeam, and the late Isaac have observed that they "are rapidly sinking back to the status of peculiarly specialized apes".
Tiktaalik's fin bones have no axial skeleton connections. This is significant because without this direct connection, no true walking could be done!
1. Stephen J. Gould and Niles Eldredge, "Punctuated Equilibria", Paleobiology 3 (Spring 1977): p 147
2. Ref. 3, p. 167, which quotes Cartmill, M., Pilbeam, D. and Isaac, G., One hundred years of paleoanthropology, American Scientist 74:419, July--August 1986.
On Dr. Pilbeam: "It appears as if Dr. Pilbeam is admitting a horrible truth about evolution: It's all based on your "world view" and there isn't enough evidence to say for sure. But did he really say that? A trip to American Scientist shows that no review for Leakey's book was written in the May-June 1978 issue...
... Not only that, but there is no article by Dr. Pilbeam in that issue. A google search for the quote only turned up creationist sites, so I am inclined to be suspicious, especially knowing creationists' long track record of misquoting."
If macroevolution has been taking place for 4.6 billion years, the sedimentary rock units should have billions of undeniable transitions. You gave me THREE highly dubious and discredited examples. You absolute twat.
All of your examples have been shown to be highly dubious. Even if your three were universally accepted by the scientific community (which they are not), please explain where the other MILLIONS and MILLIONS of transitional fossils are??
You haven't found anything conclusive to date but you expect to find the MISSING MILLIONS of transitional fossils in the future? That's not optimism dude -that's religion!
Evolution is not visible in the past, via the fossil record. It is not visible in the present, whether we consider an organism as a whole, or on the microscopic planes of biochemistry and molecular biology, where, as we have seen, the theory faces numerous difficulties. In short, evolution is just not visible. Science is suppossed to be based on observation.
evolution is not visible? so your saying drug resistant bacteria, black peppered moths, thickening of blue mussel shells in north USA due to a new species of crab. There are even examples of beneficial mutations like the mutated LPL gene in humans, reducing chance of a CAD. So there are current examples of evolution...
There's also nylon-eating bacteria. These bacterias have mutated to produce enzymes that breaks down nylon for nutrients. Nylon did not exist before and therefore this supports evolution.
Yet another example of a 'defect' being an advantage, but totally irrelevant to evolution.
The Japanese have demonstrated that nylon degrading ability can be obtained in laboratory cultures of POA (which had no enzymes capable of degrading nylon oligomers) within nine days! This was achieved in a mere nine days! This timeframe suggests a certain mechanism for adaptation, not something as haphazard as random mutations and selection.
You claim that nylon-eating bacteria took 9 days before it can digest nylon, therefore it can't be a mutation, rather an adaption. I'm saying that bacteria can multiply extremely fast therefore a chance of mutation is extremely high. Asshole.
You have swallowed too much ideology from your Stalinist indoctrination courses at public college.
Mutations, both those arising in laborotories and those stored in natural populations, are almost universally HARMFUL and produce detoriations of viability, hereditary diseases, and mostrosities. Such changes can hardly serve as evolutionary building blocks.
Uhh no, idiot. Most mutations are neutral. They don't do anything good or bad to the species. Those species with duplicated mutated genes will pass on its duplicated mutated genes and it'll keep doing that. Sometimes there's a harmful mutation and natural selection will take care of that, sometimes there's a beneficial mutation, and that gets passed on and etc. Asshole.
I knew it. Every fucking creationist does that. First ask a question and thinks it's unanswerable. Someone comes along and answers it and then they just ask a new question and thinks that's unanswerable. Fucking assholes.
You are wrong and you blatantly have never studied the field of genetics. I don't know why i bother arguing but: Codons, found in exons, consist of three bases, code for amino acids, stop or start. Change one of the 3 bases and now that codon most likely codes for a different amino acid or now codes for stop or start. Add an extra, or remove a base and you will change what all of the codons following that point mean. It doesn't destroy "information" it changes it.
The precise order of amino acids in proteins in cells is governed by information on the nucleic acids that code for them, so this could not be achieved by chance.
Further, a stereo-chemical basis for the relationship between any particular three nucleotides and the amino acid for which they code has not yet been elucidated.
We must therefore toss neo-Darwinism out of the window.
You make no sense. Sure it's governed by nucleic acid. But sometimes the nucleic acid gets mutated or there's a fuck up in translation. It CAN be achieved by a chance mutation, but natural selection will determine whether it's beneficial or harmful. Asshole.
"You make no sense. Sure it's governed by nucleic acid. "
Of course he doesn't make sense. He copied that material verbatim from a creationist website. He might as well copied a passage of 16th century Italian literature. Neither has any bearing on science.
"The precise order of amino acids in proteins in cells is governed by information on the nucleic acids that code for them, so this could not be achieved by chance."
Plagiarism: more evidence of the lack or morality that runs rampant through youtube creaionists.
How sad, you don't even have the knowledge to spread your own lies, you have to plagiarize someone else's lies.
There are millions of fossils in museums, representing some 250,000 species. National polls usually consider just 2,000 people enough to accurately sample our entire nation. So we certainly have enough fossil specimens to verify Darwinism.
Since you like sources so much, here's a great quote for you to 'beat me down' with (from your High Priest Stephen Gould): Most species exhibit no directional change during their tenure on earth. They appear in the fossil record looking much the same as when they disappear; morphological change is usually limited and directionless".
You brought up Stephen Gould, asshole. I just turned your "source" into shit. Quotes don't mean anything in science, asshole. While you're at it, give me the link to that quote just for the hell of it.
That's brilliant Sherlock! I quote from Gould directly and you offer a quote from an anonymous source about what he/she thought Gould's views were. Good grief.
"I was reading on Stephen J. Gould because I doubt your words. It says here:"
Good job outing the bullshit that everton spreads around. I'll wager that it doesn't surprise you that he jumped into the non-contextual quote mining with both washed feet.
No, I'm concerned with and very adamant about exposing the lies that despicable creationists spread about science...
"than the absence of your millions of transitional fossils!!"
... including that one. There is no absence of transitional fossils. You've been shown many times where to find info on transitional fossils. If you had one iota of integrity you would acknowledge this. Your lack of integrity is typical of your ilk.
"Godbotting and quote mining were invented by creationists in the mid-90's. What a surprise..."
"godbotting" is a new one for me. Quite a good description though. They use quote mining in an effort to appear knowledgable. The problem is, the rest of their posts are so obviously ignorance based that quote-mines stick out like a sore thumb.
"...the pectoral appendage of a member of the sister group of tetrapods, Tiktaalik roseae, ... is ... transitional between a fin and a limb. The expanded array of distal endochondral bones and synovial joints in the fin of Tiktaalik is similar to the distal limb pattern of basal tetrapods. ... was capable of a range of postures, including a limb-like substrate-supported stance in which the shoulder and elbow were flexed and the distal skeleton extended.."
proclaimeroflies has no idea of what he is fighting against. he thinks that we believe we evolved from monkeys, he thinks that we use carbon 14 to date, he thinks... no wait, sry he just doesn't think
These folks think because they have titles to their names that extend all the way across the screen entitles them to be the all-knowing crusaders of evolution? heck, they have simply been more indoctrinated with all the misinformation thats fed to them. In reality, they are twice the children of hell as their educators are.
>>>>"evolution...which IS a religion" im sorry, how EXACTLY is EVOLUTION a RELIGION??!?
Because evolution can never be proven and IT ALSO starts ... in the beginning. To believe life came from non-life requires faith (which is beyond science).
To try and say evolution doesn't deal with the beginnings of life is a cop out. You think the big bang theory doesn't walk hand in hand with the THEORY of evolution?
if you understand science you understand evolution has nothing to do with it.
Crusades, witch hunts cant match the destruction of world war II which was caused by evolutionary teachings combined with occult of magic in Germany's society.
Evolutionists have subtly changed the meaning of science into "Naturalism", and seek to control the terms of debate. But did science exist before evolution became vogue? Of course.... Read about Newton, Kepplar, and other scientists that believed in Intelligent design....
Science is the study of reality, and if metaphysics or supernatural are useful for teaching science, these should not be left out of the science class. I think the second lady has a point, that government shouldn't teach religion, but who sais that the government should teach anybody in the first place?
It's hard for me to understand how you can say this after watching this movie. The government is responsible for education because otherwise there would be no structure in it, and that would lead to a decline of knowledge in any country. Religion shouldn't be taught in public schools because the government needs to be non-secular, otherwise it might put one religion over the other, which would inevitably lead to oppression of a number of religions, and in the US there is freedom of religion.
And to respond to your comment "science is the study of reality": almost. Definitionof science: "the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment."
You cannot study the metaphysical and supernatural through observation nor through experiment, so religion can never be science.
I understand science is a study of natural phenomena, but that isn't to say it doesn't attempt to answer epistemological questions, or has strong philosophical roots.
True enough, but it does not make any explicit statements about metaphysical / supernatural phenomena, unless it can refute any claims for supernatural occurrances or beliefs by scientific method.
That science has impact on religion says nothing about science, it says something about religion: apparently many religious beliefs can not withstand the very solid tests of science.
These scientists are making the incorrect assumption that if you don't buy evolution, then you don't believe in science, and therefore live in an irrational world and don't know how to make critical decisions. I think that's extreme arrogance.
"Creationists can become an advocate of the creation point of view" That is exactly what is being done with evolution...which IS a religion. How dumb does she look by saying this.
"evolution...which IS a religion" im sorry, how EXACTLY is EVOLUTION a RELIGION??!? im sure uve got a brilliant explanation to back up a claim like that. if u could just explain it to a christian who believes evolution is true.
Its not vital to Deut 6:4 Acts 2:38 Php 2:9 Salvation. Strange. I believed NET ever since programed age 3. I'm very avidly into science and rationality, always atheist and never doubted NET even later as a believer. Until I watched some Hovind and branched out. There be lots of 'shills' in both camps but NET supports atheism and the Jesuit 4th Reich, it gets in the way of objective science and supports meaninglessness. Its a religion because it has dogma and a belief about the immortal soul.
stupid, Hovind? You honestly think Kent Hovind, a liar, tax dodger, fraud is the place to go to get reputtable information? Are you aware of where Hovind got his "credentials?" Are you aware that his 15 yrs of teaching high school science was in a high school HE created? His PhD was received from an correspondance course which doles them out in just a few months. It takes many yrs to acquire a PhD from accredited Universities. WOW Hovind the federal prisoner is your hero & source for information
Darwin only had a degree in Theology. Einstein got very poor grades for maths at school. Dr Mengele was very respected. You have no idea how thoroughly the values of this society are corrupted by organized greed and lust for control. You would benefit greatly from working through some of the references on my homepage. If you knew how the fraud of US income tax is linked to the fraud of private money out of thin air, you also would be angry about it, if you were decent.
stupid, yes you are right. America has 1 Christian President, 1 Christian V.P., 1 Christian Secretary of State, 1 Christian Attorney General, 50 Christian Govenors, 425Christian Congressmen, (452 Christian-Judeo Congressman) 99 Christian Senators, countless Christian State's Attorney Generals, etc., etc.,. The simple fact is, your red herring re: income tax is a JOKE, ironically IS a joke in & of itself. First off is an avoidance/deflection from my points. Secondly it is a non sequitor. Oh
my bad you are not educated in debate hence you need Google for "non sequitur" Either there is an atheistic communist conspiracy or taxes ARE constitutional. Now if there is an atheistic conspiracy, there must be 99.999% of Government positions, who want to control this. Being Theists who ran on religious ballets they must be IDIOTS. However the conspiracy theory is that Christians are MORONS who cannot prove a conspiracy.
juxtapose that with the FACT that the American Government IS 999% Christian & we are STILL this fucked up & still deal with Christian bigotry. My guess is you are going for the conspiracy theory & the idea that Christians are MORONS for letting us atheists take control.
*snicker*
You are the KING, thus far, of deflection, red herrings & logical fallacies. I am so looking forward to your other ironic & hypocritical statements/rebuttals.
How do you do that: accept the word of everyone even you recognize as a genocidal liar when they tell you they follow the example of an ABSOLUTE PACIFIST?? And yourself: hatred and arrogance in all your words, you should hardly be surprised when your meanness returns upon you. And as for condescension: I have an extremely good education so far up to MSc level and far beyond institutionalized thinking, which you are still clearly very brainwashed by.
stupid, once again, as typical of your ilk you avoid the topics & or evidence used as reffutation & you reply with rhetoric. I sourced the CIA World FactBook & NationMaster. If you want to discuss the FACTS I brought up fine, if you just want to whine & cry then move along.
stupid, I already offered the facts Skippy. If you deny the facts, then that is on you. I myself live free of conspiracy theories & let the facts speak for themsleves. I may have my own opinion, but I do not carry around my own facts. If a census reports that 75% of Americans consider themsleves Christian, I am not going to construct a conspiracy theory which reduces or raises that reported percentage. You can if you like, but again I prefer facts over illogical nonsense.
ESE... yea, and remember the mutation experiment on the fruit flies? caused nothing but deformities. Nothing new ever added. Fruit flies were still fruit flies.
I sincerely hope America can kick the nonsense of Creationism and its pseudo-science offspring "intelligent design" into the trashcan of history. Stand up, stand up, for Reason!!
Did you want to say.... since we see small changes going on today in successive generations of living things, we only have to extend this in time and we will see the types of changes which have caused single-cell-to-man evolution? But but but observed "variation" ...... does appear..... to have limits. Packets of information can be combined in many different ways, but will not produce any new packets of information. Mainly why evolution is referred to as the science of speculation.
Mutation can cause knew combinations in the DNA. Most of the time mutation kills the creature, but in rare cases it will grant a useful trait. I could tell you what may cause mutation if you didn't already knew, but it's late at night here so I'll have to quit here.
I have never heard anyone, anywhere call evolution the science of speculation. And if it is a science of speculation, then so is astronomy, chemistry, biochemistry, geochronology, geology, and anatomy, all of which support evolutionary theory. There is no argument about evolution anywhere except in the heads of creationists.
@CristinaFernandez Nearly all scientists believe in evolutionism. And a HUGE proportion of scientists are atheist. Coincidence? hmm.... evolution is THE biggest lie in the history of mankind. It is sad that not many people choose to think critically about it before accepting it.....
@nejtilsvampe Astronomy is a different brach of science, the study of the planets, and the Universe. Evolution is only concerned with life on earth, and if it is proved to exist, then life on other planets
@daverigby23 nope. Evolution is the theory that explains the diversity of life once it has arisen.. It's not limited to any enviroment. And it has been proven beyond any shadow of doubt..
Astronomy has absolutely no ties to evolution what so ever, it was a retoricle question.
But there is one truth it will never override.... Of His Kingdom, there will be no end, for the meek shall inherit the earth. Evolutionist will inherit the wind.

The issue is what the truth is. Mutations do not order any functions.
Science does not support evolution because evolution is so much nonsense.
The problem is not with science. You are making a strawman. Just because people believe there is a God does not mean there is not a God.
Our health and welfare depend on reason and truth, not the fantasy of evolutionn. Evolution does nothing and accomplishes nothing.
Only intent and design does anything.

Mutations originate new traits.
Science does support evolution. try explain Plant speciation without using evolution theory.
God doesn't exist. no evidence for that crap.
Ab resistance is a very important subject to our health. Can you explain this phenomena without using evolution theory?
there is no intent or design. no evidence for that crap.
Truth: you can't explain Plant speciation without using evolution theory.

@transtlantic Mutations can only change existing information. Mutations cannot order anything.
Plant speciation is what the limited information in the genome does.
You would not exist without intent and design.
AB resistance is the result of existing information in the genome.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon
mutations can increase information - Down syndrome.
Plant speciation is proof of evolution.
I exist without intent and design.
AB resistance is proof of evolution. there can't be AB resistance without mutations originating novel information in the genome.
transtlantic 5 months ago
@transtlantic Duplication of information is not new information.
The variation of species is due to the limited information in the genome.
You are saying things for the sake saying things. Of course you were intended and you exist because of design.
The mutations cannot work together to order anything.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon ofc duplication of information is new information. as ALL kids know.
The variation cannot occur if there were limits. therefore there are no limits.
I am saying things written at the Molecular biology of the cell, 5th edition. now...what sources are you using? oh right: none. you are just making stuff up.
i exist because of sexual reproduction, an evolved trait. there is no evidence for design. you are JUST full of shit.
Mutations originate all the diversity observed.
transtlantic 5 months ago
@transtlantic If you duplicate "Jack and Jill", it'll be the same old story.
You can't mutate nothing. You have to have preexisting working design to change it.
Exactly, varriations cannot occur where there are limits and the genome is limited by limited orders.
You are saying nonsense and insisting that it's a good thing.
Once upon a time, it was beneficial to have male and female so one genome ordered a male and the other genome ordered a female to keep company for the male *without* sex.
JungleJargon 5 months ago
@JungleJargon if you duplicate genes in the genome, that won't be the same "story", because the genotype is now expressed twice, creating a different phenotype. ergo the importance of the number of alleles that you have for each gene. Thalassemic disorders are proof that you are wrong.
i can mutate a lot of things. ALL things with DNA or RNA mutates. there is no such thing as "design": you are JUST full of shit.
there are no limits to the genome.
I am using science. you aren't.

TV doesn't help either, over here in the UK we had another one of those "We've found the missing link" documentaries, it misleads to suggest the idea of a single missing link.
ninjatoothpaste 2 years ago 2
@ninjatoothpaste : It is even more misleading to suggest that there are any links missing. The record is complete. Not by means of fossils, but by means of molecular biology. We can deduct the phases of evolution by looking at DNA and proteins with as much detail as we wish to. There are no more missing links.

Scientists do not pontificate, they are not priests or popes. Theory of evolution evolves (surprised?). In XIX century, fossils were the best they had. Nowadays there are better and stronger tools, as molecular biology, which support the Theory.

According to Darwin, the absence of intermediate fossil forms is the most obvious and
gravest objection which can be urged against my theory. What new fossil finds, if any,
have occurred since Darwin wrote these words nearly 150 years ago? Do they overturn
Darwins bleak assessment of evolutionary theory? If the absence of intermediate fossil
forms holds as much today as it did back then, why should anyone accept evolution?
ARisenServant 3 years ago
This is the most laughable blunder of the creationist argument. That they're too stupid to understand that speciation is not a set of discrete steps a, b, c, and in between them there are stranger intermediate forms which bridge a supposed gap.
Speciation is gradual and continuous, and any species which is the ancestor of any other species is an intermediate.
In short, every fossil is an intermediate fossil.

Government is corrupted. Put some *value* on your Spirituality, for cryin' out loud.. Why would you poison your religion like that? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
? Because that seems to be the only bit people use in favour of the 'separation' idea, and it says you must allow religious expression?
stupidtreehugger 3 years ago
It means that the government cannot infringe upon, OR ENDORSE, religion with it's laws. It would prohibit the free exercise of my religion if I was forced to learn someone elses. Science class is a place where we learn about the natural world. There is only one natural world, i.e. reality. It is patently absurd to suggest that we should let children pick which way they think the natural world works.
limbopete 3 years ago
Cheers, ok, but it says 'prohibiting..' not 'endorse'...
OK, who wanted a life story. Point being: do I thank them for restricting my vision all that time? Was it towards building a healthy human, like one nourishes a plant with all the best nutrients and conditions and care to make it a shining example? Or was it merely to ensure I was likely to turn out a pseudo-rationally subjugated dark empire serf?
Is there some kind of danger associated with allowing children a lego-set of worldviews????
stupidtreehugger 3 years ago
"Is there some kind of danger associated with allowing children a lego-set of worldviews????" That is a false question. ID is not promoting wider "world views", and if they were it STILL would have no place in science class. Again: It is absurd to simply let children pick from a variety of ways in which the universe works.
If the government puts ID into government-run programs then the government is making a law in respect to an establishment of religion, because ID is religious.

Since evolution has been put to test long ago, all gathered facts support it. There are blank pages and not everything has been understood, but no one has ever made an sucessful scientific attempt to prove it untrue.

Evolution is not visible in the past, via the fossil record. It is not visible in the present, whether we consider an organism as a whole, or on the microscopic planes of biochemistry and molecular biology, where, as we have seen, the theory faces numerous difficulties. In short, evolution is just not visible. Science is suppossed to be based on observation.
everton777 4 years ago
evolution is not visible? so your saying drug resistant bacteria, black peppered moths, thickening of blue mussel shells in north USA due to a new species of crab. There are even examples of beneficial mutations like the mutated LPL gene in humans, reducing chance of a CAD. So there are current examples of evolution...
SqrJames 4 years ago
There's also nylon-eating bacteria. These bacterias have mutated to produce enzymes that breaks down nylon for nutrients. Nylon did not exist before and therefore this supports evolution.
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
Yet another example of a 'defect' being an advantage, but totally irrelevant to evolution.
The Japanese have demonstrated that nylon degrading ability can be obtained in laboratory cultures of POA (which had no enzymes capable of degrading nylon oligomers) within nine days! This was achieved in a mere nine days! This timeframe suggests a certain mechanism for adaptation, not something as haphazard as random mutations and selection.

DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
What does the reproduction rate of anything have to do with the theory of evolution?
everton777 4 years ago
You claim that nylon-eating bacteria took 9 days before it can digest nylon, therefore it can't be a mutation, rather an adaption. I'm saying that bacteria can multiply extremely fast therefore a chance of mutation is extremely high. Asshole.
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
You have swallowed too much ideology from your Stalinist indoctrination courses at public college.
Mutations, both those arising in laborotories and those stored in natural populations, are almost universally HARMFUL and produce detoriations of viability, hereditary diseases, and mostrosities. Such changes can hardly serve as evolutionary building blocks.
everton777 4 years ago
Uhh no, idiot. Most mutations are neutral. They don't do anything good or bad to the species. Those species with duplicated mutated genes will pass on its duplicated mutated genes and it'll keep doing that. Sometimes there's a harmful mutation and natural selection will take care of that, sometimes there's a beneficial mutation, and that gets passed on and etc. Asshole.
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
For mutations to occur, there must first be genes.
Question: how did genes originate before the first mutation?
everton777 4 years ago
I knew it. Every fucking creationist does that. First ask a question and thinks it's unanswerable. Someone comes along and answers it and then they just ask a new question and thinks that's unanswerable. Fucking assholes.
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
Mutations modify or destroy already existing genetic information, but they NEVER create new information.
Some bacteria possess a natural genetic capacity to resist certain antibiotics; mutations are not involved.
everton777 4 years ago
Uh huh. Right. Asshole.
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
You are wrong and you blatantly have never studied the field of genetics. I don't know why i bother arguing but: Codons, found in exons, consist of three bases, code for amino acids, stop or start. Change one of the 3 bases and now that codon most likely codes for a different amino acid or now codes for stop or start. Add an extra, or remove a base and you will change what all of the codons following that point mean. It doesn't destroy "information" it changes it.
SqrJames 4 years ago
The precise order of amino acids in proteins in cells is governed by information on the nucleic acids that code for them, so this could not be achieved by chance.
Further, a stereo-chemical basis for the relationship between any particular three nucleotides and the amino acid for which they code has not yet been elucidated.
We must therefore toss neo-Darwinism out of the window.
everton777 4 years ago

It wasn't visible in the past because there WERE no fossil records, asshole. Not visible (which is not true)? God isn't visible, what the hell, man?
DeadFishFactory 4 years ago
There are millions of fossils in museums, representing some 250,000 species. National polls usually consider just 2,000 people enough to accurately sample our entire nation. So we certainly have enough fossil specimens to verify Darwinism.

Since you like sources so much, here's a great quote for you to 'beat me down' with (from your High Priest Stephen Gould): Most species exhibit no directional change during their tenure on earth. They appear in the fossil record looking much the same as when they disappear; morphological change is usually limited and directionless".
everton777 4 years ago
You brought up Stephen Gould, asshole. I just turned your "source" into shit. Quotes don't mean anything in science, asshole. While you're at it, give me the link to that quote just for the hell of it.

"godbotting" is a new one for me. Quite a good description though. They use quote mining in an effort to appear knowledgable. The problem is, the rest of their posts are so obviously ignorance based that quote-mines stick out like a sore thumb.

I don't know the genesis of this term but I first read about it on PZ Myers' blog which adequately defines it as:
"Making an argument based only on the premise that your holy book is sufficient authority; citing lots of bible verses as if they were persuasive."

I think it's more of a combination of argument from authority and argument from ignorance, and based on a tautological premise.

Yes, a nasty combination.

PROCLAIMEROFTRUTH 4 years ago
one: you dumb creationists confuse abiogenesis and the big bang as evolution in MOST of your arguments.
two: Evolution has evidence
three: Evolution doesn't encourage ignorance, and punish none believers (ie: the none ignorant)
Ergo: evolution is the very opposite of religion.

I think the second lady has a point, that government shouldn't teach religion, but who sais that the government should teach anybody in the first place?
jfeucht82 4 years ago
It's hard for me to understand how you can say this after watching this movie. The government is responsible for education because otherwise there would be no structure in it, and that would lead to a decline of knowledge in any country. Religion shouldn't be taught in public schools because the government needs to be non-secular, otherwise it might put one religion over the other, which would inevitably lead to oppression of a number of religions, and in the US there is freedom of religion.
KryzMasta 4 years ago
And to respond to your comment "science is the study of reality": almost. Definitionof science: "the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment."
You cannot study the metaphysical and supernatural through observation nor through experiment, so religion can never be science.
KryzMasta 4 years ago
I understand science is a study of natural phenomena, but that isn't to say it doesn't attempt to answer epistemological questions, or has strong philosophical roots.
jfeucht82 4 years ago
True enough, but it does not make any explicit statements about metaphysical / supernatural phenomena, unless it can refute any claims for supernatural occurrances or beliefs by scientific method.
That science has impact on religion says nothing about science, it says something about religion: apparently many religious beliefs can not withstand the very solid tests of science.
KryzMasta 4 years ago
These scientists are making the incorrect assumption that if you don't buy evolution, then you don't believe in science, and therefore live in an irrational world and don't know how to make critical decisions. I think that's extreme arrogance.
jfeucht82 4 years ago
But rejection of evolution is irrational, because it contradicts direct, observable physical reality.
The presence of homologous anatomies, and the ability of evolution theory to do what all great scientific thoughts do: make predictions.
Scientists predicted that a link between fish and tetrapod life would be found circa 380 million years ago. And it was!
To deny evolution is an absence of critical thinking, and shows scientific illiteracy. That IS something to be concerned about.

Its a religion because it has dogma and a belief about the immortal soul.
stupidtreehugger 3 years ago
stupid, Hovind?

If you knew how the fraud of US income tax is linked to the fraud of private money out of thin air, you also would be angry about it, if you were decent.
stupidtreehugger 3 years ago
stupid, yes you are right. Oh
IaintNoGood 3 years ago
my bad you are not educated in debate hence you need Google for "non sequitur" Either there is an atheistic communist conspiracy or taxes ARE constitutional. Now if there is an atheistic conspiracy, there must be 99.999% of Government positions, who want to control this. Being Theists who ran on religious ballets they must be IDIOTS. However the conspiracy theory is that Christians are MORONS who cannot prove a conspiracy.
IaintNoGood 3 years ago
juxtapose that with the FACT that the American Government IS 999% Christian & we are STILL this fucked up & still deal with Christian bigotry.

And as for condescension: I have an extremely good education so far up to MSc level and far beyond institutionalized thinking, which you are still clearly very brainwashed by.

stupid, I already offered the facts Skippy.

PROCLAIMEROFTRUTH 4 years ago
Mutation can cause knew combinations in the DNA. Most of the time mutation kills the creature, but in rare cases it will grant a useful trait. I could tell you what may cause mutation if you didn't already knew, but it's late at night here so I'll have to quit here.
LordEsel88 4 years ago
I have never heard anyone, anywhere call evolution the science of speculation. And if it is a science of speculation, then so is astronomy, chemistry, biochemistry, geochronology, geology, and anatomy, all of which support evolutionary theory. There is no argument about evolution anywhere except in the heads of creationists.
CristinaFernandez 2 years ago 22
@CristinaFernandez Nearly all scientists believe in evolutionism. And a HUGE proportion of scientists are atheist. Coincidence? hmm.... evolution is THE biggest lie in the history of mankind. It is sad that not many people choose to think critically about it before accepting it.....
tpstrat14 7 months ago
@CristinaFernandez just out of curiosity, how does astronomy support evolutionary theory??
nejtilsvampe 4 months ago
@nejtilsvampe Astronomy is a different brach of science, the study of the planets, and the Universe. Evolution is only concerned with life on earth, and if it is proved to exist, then life on other planets
daverigby23 3 weeks ago
@daverigby23 nope. Evolution is the theory that explains the diversity of life once it has arisen.. It's not limited to any enviroment. And it has been proven beyond any shadow of doubt..
Astronomy has absolutely no ties to evolution what so ever, it was a retoricle question.
