This takes me back to 1991(?) when I did the sound for him on a UK tour. "Geoff is my orchestra" he said. A lovely warm guy, he drank tea in my house. In one of those strange temporal circles, his late wife had been at school with my Mum. I think my recording of his South Bank Centre show is in the British Sound Archive. Respect to a good, kind and nicely crazy man.......Geoff x

I shot right to my feet to applaud and holler after this performance. It was a pleasure to see and an honor to say I played the same stage / fest. Could have been the beer, but I've seldom been moved so much by music.

I spoke to him at the festival the next day - he signed the LP I bought, and told me that he was going to make one more record - a pop record so that he could enjoy his retirement. Legend.
