Israel was not "allowed to exist" by anyone. Israel had to fight for independence from Britain, by killing many British soldiers. The Europeans did everything they could to destroy Israel, so there is no reason for us to thank them.

after the second world war israel was "re-created" in the middle east by the united states and britain.

israel never welcomed the EU draft. On the contrary, they condemn a draft that declares half their eternal capital as belonging to a people that didn't even exist 300 years ago.

If this draft is recognised, this will only encourage Israel to speed up it's building on East Jerusalem. Current restrictions will be taken off the table and full building will commence.

95% of the land was a desert 300 years ago. Nobody lived there, appart from a few nomads who were officialy under the rule of the ottoman empire.

There was no state called Palestine, nor any people called Palestinians at the time.

There WAS however, for the past 2700 years, a nation called the jews. They represented a minority back then, but they were always present.

There is no nation of jews, judaism is a religion like any other. To call jews as a nation is like calling christians a nation.

Before the Ottoman Empire, there were many other empires that conquered the land. But First real kingdom in place was the kingdom of Israel. Held by the Israelites, who were back then a grand majority.

Many have fled after Assyrians conquered the land. The Jews (descendents of the tribe of Judah) then conquered back the land, only to be retaken by the romans in 200 B.C.

Judaism is only a name given to a religion that exists in 11 other tribes of Israel.

My great great great grand daddy settled in what is now Jerusalem in the year 4million B.C from Egypt (I said it so it must be true)....Therefore, I own the place and would not allow anyone else to live here...regardless of other millions of people who are living here and have been settled here for at least a couple of hundred years

a) I never stated Jews founded Jerusalem. I did mention they inhabitted it 3000 years ago, after it was conquered by king david in 1050 B.C.

Palestinians were farmers, bedouins and merchants coming from all corners of the Middle East. (most appeared after the conquest of the ottoman empire, though some came during the Sassanid and Caliphate conquests too)

Please fix erroneous title, Israel does not "welcome" the EU stance on Jerusalem, nor does this video give any attempt to suggest such an outrageous claim. As for the person in the video saying the EU's talk "clears the way for Sweden to set the borders of Jerusalem"...reminder: Sweden is not the boss of the sovereign state of Israel, or its capital Jerusalem.

Agreed- Israel certainly would not welcome a stance that divides jerusalem & fails to take into account facts on the ground ie Jerusalem has expanded since 1967 and 200,000 Jerusalem jews now live beyond the Green line

I think the EU has just ruled itself out as any sort of future mediator in ME conflict by its unrealistic stance on Jerusalem & the Jewish community that have settled beyond the Green line.
