great b side from the sweet, in my opinion a lot of there best songs were b sides which had more of a rock sound to them. but having said that i love pretty much most sweet songs anyway. i,ve just recently turned 45 and i still love love the sweet !!
in the early 70s purple were my fav band but ill tell you something sweet albums were in my collection they were a great rock band they were up there with purple sabbath zep etc just ashame they did,nt get the recognition as these bands got in my opinion exellent musicians great albums !!!!!!!!! long live sweet!!!!!!!
This was the song on the B side of Coco which they sang to break out of the image of being a bubble gum band. They areexcellent but very under-rated, you can see. A classic rock but got mired in their image
This song shows they had potential to do much better than all the bubblegum stuff they did. Unfortunately this kind of stuff didn't surface until Sweet FA in '74
I'm 33 now and I've never herd them before ...I was looking for somethig among old things under the roof and I found the '74 original vinile co-co done me wr... they rock!!! 5/5...
Sweet had some of the best ever hard rock songs...windy city, set me free, hard times, burn on the flame,action...etc..etc..etc. They were very underated + talented...R.I.P Brian & Mick
@TheJohnnyMetal you'd be surprised, they wrote Ballroom Blitz, Hell Raiser, Teenage Rampage and The Sixteens for them which are pretty badass heavy rock . ;-)
@fatpizzaman Ya but that wasnt the Chinichap side of the tape that was heavy. B-side was all up to sweet. A-side was all chinichaps lyrics and music played by sweet.
Sweet had nothing to envy Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin. Steve, Andy, Mick and Brian had all to conquer the rock audiences. The only critical point could be the A-sides of their first years singles. But the talent rules at last and these guys were a warm gun for every rocker everywhere. And I'm proud to be the most Southern Sweet fan (I believe) from Punta Arenas, Chile. My regards for all the Sweet Army in the world.
Cool tune. when did this original become available to the public? i Don't know this track and have everything from Sweet Fanny Adams through Identity Crisis.
Yes, you are quite right...the entire song resembles in a certain way the Deep Purple classic "Black Night"...but notwithstanding my nickname, I like that song (one of the few of the early Sweet period). Some people say that I'm not true, but I don't give a damn:-)
I always hated the poppier songs like coco, poppa joe, funny funny and all that crap, but the B-sides of these singles are really rockin´, I love them - could somebody post "man from mecca"?
yes it is, on "sweet's biggest hits". but you gotta look, theres another one which is named similar ("sweet's golden greats"), biggest hits is the one with their earlier hits.
if it wasnt for life on mars the tv programme i would have never have heard of this song i just want to thank the people who put the music on life on mars this is a great song and i cant find a guitar tab of it im really pissed off i want to learn it on the guitar!!
Heavier B-sides! That was what The Sweet was all about! There was a programme on the telly recently about the 70s TOTP or something. The passing cooments those stupid journalists amde about Sweet just showed they had NO IDEA!
sin duda alguna una de las mejores canciones de los principios de SWEET , hard rock en estado puro y poco comercial....bueno..muy bueno.

I read that someone kicked Brian in the throat before he quit singing. I wonder if this 'someone' was hired to do it: some ppl are just trash.
