Seeing this reminds me of when they used that weapon to destroy the Replicators. It's still makes me wonder what would have happened if the Replicators were still around when the Ori came. I know they were 'sort of' there in Ark of Truth, but they didn't really do anything to the Ori.
@starflame34 the ori are basically just bad ancients. Ancients could kick replicator arse anyday and it's not like they don't have experience with replicator type stuff...
I think an Ori Mothership can obliterate a Wraith Hiveship faster than the Asgard Beam armed BC-304s. Remember that the Asgard Beam was designed primarily to create fluctuations in the Ori's shield system to cause it to collapse. Meanwhile the Ori's beam weapons were just massive raw firepower.
It has become clear that many here have strayed from the path of Hammond into the darkness of the shol'va Teal'c.
BE NOT THAT THE GREAT HAMMOND HAS BBQ THE SOL’VA FOR THEE? ONLY UPON THY EAT OF THE TEAL’CBURGER SHALL YOU TASTE FREEDOM!
Hammond is kind and blesses those who follow. Thou who do not is welcome to his BBQ, but they will be for to eat. They will be eat as the shol’va Teal’c is eated. Will you accept His offering, and feast upon the Teal'cburger?
Ok... I'll go ahead and say it and risk everyones wrath-but I was disappointed with SG-1's season finale... time traveling is a great plot device and all, but for the final episode? Thought it was a bit weak, but SG Atlantis came afterwards and I loved that one til it died. Oh well, seems that everything I like gets the axe or something like that. :(
@st4rk1ller. I too loved Atantis but my only moan is that they should've made the final episode a 2-parter. Having watched it a few times now, they could so easily have padded it out to last 2 hours/episodes. I hear the reason it was rushed was because they 'intended to make a film' but never got round to it. Shame!
@woglew Actually, they wanted to do the film and they also wanted to do one for SG-1 which should have been centred on Jack but the production companies declared both of the films dead in 2008. I have no clue why since I guess you could make quite some money out of both of them (especially with O'Neill returning, seeing as he was the soul of the series...) if you just did a good promotion... I found out Continuum had been released when I walked by the DVD area of the nearest department store o.O
@SteinbrecherBack Any future Stargate straight to DVD films are dead because fans didn't wholeheartedly embrace Stargate Universe. There was supposed to be a film wrapping up the Atlantis storyline but they cancelled it because of "poor fan response" to Universe.
@SteinbrecherBack oneill is not coming back, hes FAT now, really really fat not like when he appeared in SGU, hes fully round now, i was having trouble accepting it was him, poor sam
If they wern''t so desperate to have the ship they could of had the weapon target metal like they did with the replicators, then there would have been nothing to fire at them, just crystal and whatever else the ship is made from. That and Adria floating in space.
@killercheese101 Actually Motherships have smaller cannons, as seen when they come through the supergate, they also do have fighters, but usually have no need to deploy them
@killercheese101 What would be the point of fending off the darts. What can they really do but uselessly ram the Ori ships over and over again. They could swarm, ram, and shoot it millions of times and it wouldn't do anything. A modern equivalent would be: an AC-130 gunship has no way to fend off bows and arrows, but it doesn't have to, it just blows up everything on the ground and flies away. The Ori meanwhile, fire a few beams at a hiveship and tear it to pieces like in SGA: "The Siege Pt I"
Consider the facts. The only Wraith ship capable of making its way to the milky way galaxy would be a Wraith supercruiser, like the one that travelled to Earth from the Pegasus galaxy. An Ori Skiff has only one main battery, but the Wraith supercruiser had at least 40 batteries ranging from small to large. Plus, the Ori Skiff did not have any short range fighters like darts, and if the Wraith supercruiser disables the shields, the darts can destroy the ship.
Yeah, i bet so to, i just think it is to bad than the ori never met an wraith hive ship :( .. It wood have been assom to se a ha'tak attack a wraith hive ships
yeah that would be cool, and i bet the wraith would loose. It would probably be a long battle since a ori mother ship only has one battery and a wraith hive would through like 1000 darts at it. but that would be one kick ass battle....and maybe possible since there are still ori ships around
@Sokar2488 What do you mean? Any Earth ship can easily take a Hive ship right? And Earth ships are nothing against Motherships, so it wouldnt be a very interesting battle
@Hewkll you didnt get his point, what he means is with a Wraith Hive ship but with a ZPM inside, which would be one big fucking fight from both ships which both was almost inlimited power.
@ransac16 I think it would be a sort of balance. One side having a combination of Ancient and Asgard technology and the other a combination of Ori and Wraith technology. Good point, it is trully an doomsday scenario.
the Jaffas are bunch of arrogant piece of shit, except teal'c and bra'tac. They should appreciate what the tauri have done for them. Tauri should just wipe them out with the asgard weapons. The Jaffas stand no chance.
hmm Ori ship vs Alteran ship.. always wondered how that would end.. let's not forget the Ori were in a way superior to the alterans.. i mean the alterans are the ones that were driven away not the ori !! and drones or no drones but getting hit by that laser a few times would be pretty nasty even to an anchient warship
i wish they had a few more good battles in this series. like more battles with the jaff and ori troops and better ship v ship combat, dont get me wrong tho i love this show..
true true.. still a full war between the two is hard to say who would come out victorious.. the Ori were many and the Alternas were few... anyway thanks for the replies everyone
when the dakara weapon's energy wave goes through a stargate does it cover the whole planet? does it like expand or somethingand go into the surrounding space? also if it does when the weapon came to earth what would people think
not necessarily, the Ancients were supremely overpowered in the sense of technology against the Wraith but the wraith still managed to drive the Ancients away from the Pegasusgalaxy.
I cannot find a detail on that, but those drones will have to swarm and keep pressure on an Ori ship's sheilds for a good ammount of time before they can break through.
No not actually you see in the stargate magazine it tells you that drones do more than being a weapon they actually can attatch themselves to shields and drain the power but takes more time to do
See, i do not have the magazine ready on hand, and if that is the thing...why didnt they just test that theory out with the ori? A handfull of drones vs. one lone Ori Mothership?
they will probably choose Baal's former capital as the new head quarters of the free jaffa. We'll know in continuum though probably because baals will be killed on the jaffa homeworld.

i dont think the drones go through the ori shields as it says in an parallel universe that the atlantic chair could only take on 1 ori ship.
the ori used their ascended knowledge to build their ships but the ancients didnt, also the ancient ships are 10k yrs old

but the shield barely had power, and they may be out of drones too lol

accutaly, the alterans fled the ori galaxy because they did´nt want war against their own people, or war at all for that matter.
zomgerln 3 years ago
the ori aren't superior to the alterans,
the alterans chose to leave because they didn't want a war.
the asgard energy beam can kill ori ships and the ori beam has to hit an asgard shield upgraded with a ZPM like 12 times before it can penetrate it.
You can't deny that the asgard are technological inferior to alteran technology
