  • I thought in the 60's through 70's, I noticed they had a looked a little old, i.e, the gunbarrels look like what they were in the real theateres, meaning these gunbarrels looked like they were not restored back then.

  • ...And you already know that he's a badass.

Seriously, it's wicked how they managed to establish a character moment SO early in the movie. Before even the credits roll, lol.

Now it's kinda obvious, but still. Wow :)

  • 2:31 was an epic fail.

  • ah i see you used the original 1999/2000's Bond Dvds for the gunbarrels

  • goldeneye was my favorite, mainly because i like the music in it.

  • Die another day and Casino royale are the best ones :P

  • The early ones were kind of gay, now that I see them again. Esp that guy that puts his left hand out when he shoots. lol.

  • The first three made me wish Bob Simmons to play 007 instead of Connery!

  • did anyone else hear the second gun shot for the Living Daylights gun barrel?

  • Me and my friends never knew it was a gunbarrell. We were impressed with it back in the "day" but no one could describe what it actually was. It was about the time of The Man witht the Golden Gun" when someone finally told me it was a gunbarrel. i was like, "Oh, makes sense."

I always felt that Brosnan should have bent his knees some like all the others. He looks too stiff!

  • The one for "A View to a Kill" should have portrayed Moore with a walker!

  • hey there is no gunbarrel of never say never again

  • @murasakimegumi becasue true bond fans don't count or like never say never.

  • What the hell kind of a gun did Bob Simmons use? It sounds like someone finally getting a relief after a lifetime of constipation...

  • Only with the gunbarrels of Brosnan do you see the last dot disseapear at the end of the screen before the barrel itself comes in.

  • I don't believe it was originally supposed to be a gun barrel. I think it was supposed to be a camera aperture. That would be more in keeping with the original espionage theme and it''s the blood of the photographer obscuring the lens.

  • @jeddak5 I thought it was supposed to be the insides of someone's body. I saw on the soundtracks that it was written gun barrel!

  • Craig's at the end of "Quantum of Solace" was meant to be aggressive - that's why he's walking so fast. Just a new spin on this tradition.

  • Basically, this sequence gives away the actors' Bonds:

Connery - Strong, brash, original. And a bit Scottish.

    Lazenby - Ridiculous, no-one cares.

Moore - Flamboyant, brilliantly silly, but looks unnatural holding a gun.

Dalton - Gritty, dedicated, but not very new.

Brosnan - Suave, cool, quick, realistic and original....and then Die Another Day ruined everything

    Craig - A bit hyperactive, but realistic...the verdict's out...

  • @stewmo33 The first few movies weren't even Sean Connery in the opening, it was his stunt double. Just watched an interview with Connery where he says it's funny that no one seems to notice it's not him.

  • @DeathBringer769 I did not notice until a few seconds ago when I saw the credits to this film!

  • I love Roger Moore, but he was never a proper Bond. You only have to look at his gunbarrel sequence - he misses...quite badly

  • Dalton has the best stance & also the best version of the Theme on Licence to Kill, didn't like the Casino Royale one but did the Quantum one, however I hope in Skyfall the Gun Barrel Sequence is added back to the start of the film, before the opening scene, where it should be

  • My favourite one was Pierce Brosnan in the gunbarrel. This time, the gun fired showing a blaze fired from his gun. In his last one, my best bit was when after James fired his gun in the Die Another Day gunbarrel, a bullet just came flying through the middle of the screen.

  • Spoke too soon, my bad

  • Did you know that in the very first one from Dr. No, that isn't Sean Connery but a stuntman named Simmons ? I saw it in a bond special of the SouthBank Show ^^

  • Connery and Brosnan was the best Bond ever

  • Actually I think Moore has the best form. The first few Connery ones were so lame.

  • Pierce Brosnan is my least favourite Bond, but his gunbarrel is awesome.

  • fist take a look on my opening, then make your decision;)

  • I think they should have all worn their hats man. Craig would look more like James Bond if had a hat.. and more body hair/ less wax/ less metrosexual/ less homosexual. They fucked up with him. He's done more side movies than James Bond movies. But I read that 3 new James Bond movies will come up in the next years... they wont be the same thou.........

  • connery and craig are two best bonds

  • Roger Moore # 1....

  • Let's face it: They ALL stink in one way or another. Nearly none feel like the shooter gets, uh, SURPRISED.

-Stuntman looks like he's thinking "Is the camera running yet?"

-Connery: weird slight convulsion before he fires & that ungraceful wobble

-Lazenby: knee-drop is nice but his arm flails wildly & the gunshot is late

-Moore's 1st, he misses; his 2nd, horribly slow

-The rest still feel phony/staged (QoS has cool walk-away, though)

-Only CR's looks convincing, but now epic walk is gone

    *Sigh*

  • @imhamsolo Oh yeah, definitely. He sure looked graceful wobbling after he fired. Very posh... ... ...

  • I just realised how crappy the 'On Her Majestys Secret Service' gun barrel is. He starts walking before it moves, then he carries on walking when its stopped, then he dissapears once the blood runs over him. Crappy gun barrel for a crappy movie

  • i like how licence to kill sounds threatning because it is the most violent bond film

  • Comment removed

  • 1:37 lol Sean Connery nearly lost his balance

  • I laugh so hard everytime I see Roger Moore miss at 3:31

  • @imhamsolo Daniel Craig isn't an old man ;)

  • Bob Simmons did it first and did it best. Thanks for putting him in the credits, most think it was Connery.

I think Casino is the better movie but Quantum has a better gunbarrel sequence.

  • @imhamsolo nope pierce Bronsan did it best. IMO hes the best actor out of all the movies, I was born watching his movies, and he also made my favorite games.

  • sean actually never did the openings, it was stuntman bob simmons.

  • @MrSamster911 Only the first three, Connery did do the remainder.

  • NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN is missing !

  • Comment removed

  • Brsonan style

  • sorry about that sean did thunderball, you only live twice and diamonds are forever

  • @imhamsolo

It was not sean connery that did his gunbarrel it was his stuntman

  • That is pretty epic, thanks for posting.

  • Note the blue dots on TMWGG!+ When AVTAK Was released the dots were red!

  • Note the blue dots on TMWGG!

  • @Homevideosproducts I forget about him too lol

  • @Homevideosproducts No Timothy Dalton?

  • I think Timothy Dalton did it best

  • And "Die Another Day" 's gunbarrel was too over the top.

I mean seriously, firing INTO a gunbarrel?

  • "For your eyes only" 's theme sounded epic.

  • @NilsMcCloud Agree

  • tredmill effect = pure epicness

  • you know the diamonds are forever gunbarrel - i actually thought it was tracys face in the gunbarrel as like a reminder from the last film and how 007 is gonna avenge her death in the intro

  • Sean Connery never did the opening barrel shot.

  • @tallpaul521 you're bad, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds are forever, is Sean Connery, but, Drno, From russia who love and Goldfinger, is Bob Simmons

  • @EdgarIX Again, I state that Connery never did the gun barrel opening. Not a reflection on Mr. Simmons.

  • Best one is Casino Royale. The new twist with "You Know My Name" intro is perfect for a reboot.

  • @imhamsolo But Sean never did a gun barrel sequence til Thunderball. And he stumbled while doing it, too.

  • quantum of solace would have been good but daniel craig walks too fast

  • @arrow1archer thats cus its a CGI craig =/

  • i'm guessing bob simmons is the gunbarrel actor?

  • @Marshmelo57 yeah

  • anyone ever notice that the first scene after the gunbarrel for "The Living Daylights" has the area has in the first scene after the gunbarrel of "Die Another Day"

the last classic bond film before "the big change"?? :D

  • my favourite gunbarrel is die another day

  • quantom of solace looked like a joke. it looked like when alan partridge did it. no class.

  • Best one by far is Diamonds Are Forever.

  • The jump in quality between 'Licence to Kill' and 'Goldeneye' is damn astounding.

  • Goldeneyes gunbarrel atleast tried to be different I thoughts it was cool but Casino Royales and QOS gunbarrels ruined it for me it just was'nt the same.

IMO from Live And Let Die to License To Kill sounded and looked the coolest now thats Bond... James Bond.

  • to be honest the guy who made casino royale ruined the franchise by not starting the movie with the gun barrel sequence. and when they did decide to do it in Quantum of solace which first of all is too wordy for a james bond movie he walks way to fuckin fast. bond is a smooth character walks slow with swagger.

  • I hate to nitpick, because after all...these are just the gunbarrels, but here's my pissing & moaning:

    1) Dr. No - Sounds like a jack-in-a-box turning, then suddenly, BANG!

    2) OHMSS - So, 007 treadmill walks...why exactly?

    3) Octopussy, View To A Kill, & Living Daylights - Basically the same music for each

    4) Die Another Day - That Bullet! A sign of how much this movie is gonna test the franchise's credibility

    5) Quantum - Daniel Craig looks all grumpy & stumpy, unwilling to fire

  • @darkram13 1) It and the electronic sounds were meant to symbolise... Bond... stopping Dr. No's technological nightmare? Eh, I got nothing. :P

    2) They were trying to differentiate Lazenby's Bond from Connery's in many ways.

    4) Pretty much. It was unnecessary.

Surprised you haven't nitpicked how over half the actors can't aim or how they nearly fall over when turning! ;)

  • on her majesty's secret service was the worst.

  • I never understood why it was a gun barrel and not a scope from a sniper or something. Makes more sense IMO.

  • Casino Royale's gun barrel isn't even a real gun barrel. Maybe an artillery barrel. Quantum Of Solace was speed up. Die Another day's bullet was okay for a one time deal b/c only Bond could shoot a bullet down another gun's barrel. But once is enough.

  • Now that the francise is on hold, perhaps some of the early Bonds could be re-released theatrically, perhaps as double-features? It is one thing to see them on DVD and Blu-Ray, but for those of us who never had a chance to see them on the big-screen, and the appetite for nostalgia being what it is, perhaps such a venture would prove commercially viable? I for one would love to see Goldfinger or OHMSS on the big screen.

  • I start to thing that casino royale is better than quantum of solace personaly

  • In MY opinion Connery was the most Classic Bond, Brosnan was the most charismatic and well-developed Bond, character-wise and Craig was the most bad ass.

  • I like how Dr. No starts off with cheesey cartoon 1960's noises, then suddenly...

    *BANG*

    CUE EPIC MUSIC!

  • @MountainFox51 The last two are the cheesiest. Quantum of solace looks like something a thirteen year created on his Mac.

  • The Dr. No gunbarrel always cracks me up with all the weird noises, especially when the circle opens up to reveal the gunbarrel lol. It's just so wacky XD Dr. No is one of my favorite Bond films though :)

  • Awesome! My favorite gunbarrels are the ones from Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever and For Your Eyes Only.

  • very nice work... but it's Timothy Dalton, not Timmothy Dalton ;-)

  • It's fascinating to compare all these different openings. GoldenEye was by far the worst, mainly because the theme arrangement was unrecognizable. The QoS version was fantastic, if a bit rushed. I'm just grateful we got to see Craig in something resembling a "traditional" gunbarrel given there's a good chance we won't see another Bond film for years. The Moore ones were products of their time, but really do come off as dull compared to the others.

  • y did Daniel Craig have to come and fuck things up :(

  • @SmokeTheEarthMan HAHAHA! Go complain to yourself in the corner! Craig is the best AT LEAST since Connery ... and he, in my opinion, plays the part perfect. Read the novels and TELL ME HE'S NOT! He's received so much acclaim that your complaint is irrelevant. HA! I laugh at your face.

  • idk guysi think its just me but the black and white style in casino royal adds the gun barrel sceen a quite epic momment. i stil love die another day cause of the bullet going through the barrel. and yet i belive quantum of solice's barrel scene was too fast. well thats my opinion anyone else think the same?

  • I think the quantum of solace one should be the opening credits. There's a part at the beginning where bond shoots Mr. White and he points the gun at the camera.

  • Great quality! And GoldenEye worked perfectly for me! Sweet job dude!

  • I remember seeing a trailer for Goldeneye, and the bullet went straight at the screen, like in the Die Another Day sequence. However, I remember the bullet being gold, and seeing this thing going straight at the screen and wondering what it was. I was only three or something when I saw that.

  • Cool, well done! 5* from me and faved!

  • There was a problem with Goldeneye's Gunbarrel; No audio.

  • It has audio, but it is really quiet. Sorry about that.

  • @13eds that's cause it's awesome

  • Love the true HD!
