I'd hate to choose between Davros -- the egomanaical genius bent on universal conquest or dustruction through his genecidal creations, the Daleks -- or The Master -- another Timelord, also bent on universal conquest or destruction -- but as he is the same race as the Doctor, I think he's the kind the Doctor fears he himself might eventually become. But Davros' priority is exerting his will over the universe through the Daleks; The Master's priority is exerting his will over the Doctor.

@jamalshookup theres 3 candidates in my opinion. Davros, a complete maniac who seems to have modelled self on Hitler+who created next on my list, the daleks, one of docs real fears, really representing pure hate, violence, racism or speciesism, everything he's against. Their Nazis basically. But i think his worst enemy would be the Master, simply cos so alike. Used to be best buds, real similar personalities at end of the day+EQUALS. He is the moriarty to docs holmes, he IS the ultimate nemesis

This was the scene where I fell in love with Davros. He wouldn't be satisfied with his victory, without breaking the Doctor in the most vicious way possible; that's the mark of a sociopath, and Davros is easily among the best of them.

A brilliant scene, for a brilliant scientist. We love you, Davros.

@Nitrinoxus Couldn't agree more. His calm demeanour makes his words all the more poisonous. When he's composed & deliberate, he moves with the force of a charging rhino.

But when he gets over excited (e.g., his dialogue with the 7th Doctor about the Daleks sweeping away '...the impotent race of Time Lords', or later in this episode, when he laughs maniacally that nothing can stop the Reality Bomb), his loss of control shows, & everything comes apart. He's his own worst enemy -- not the Doctor.

@kirbycathy Actually there not, not all of them. From Jabe (The End of The World) to Lynda (The Parting of Ways)were the ninth doctor. It's from Sir Robert (Tooth and Claw) onwards that they were all tenth doctor clips.

This is why David Tennant is IMO, slightly better than Matt Smith. The emotion and pain in Tennant's eyes is just too real. While I firmly believe Steven Moffat is slightly a better writer than RTD, it is this scene that makes RTD almost (but not quite) on par with Moffat.

@MegaAstroFan18 basically it hink they are both writers of the highest calibre (they are writng the greatest tv show of all time affterall) and are equally good but in different areas. judging by what iv seen so far of thr Moff's tenure he can do complex story archs a bit better than RTD but RTD can do complex characters a bit better than the Moff. i mean i really like Amy, Rory and RIver but as characters they haven't (yet) in my eyes become quite as nuanced as Rose, Donna, martha or jack were

@HopelessInLife1990 u also have to contend with the fact that the tenth and eleventh Docotr's personality is altered as well as with all the Docotrs. i can't imagine 11 or 9 becoming as emotional as 10 is here. i can imagine maybe 5 or 8 doing it tho. basically 10 was arguably the most human of all the Docotrs whereas 11 is more alien (just part of the regeneration process). I think that was a good idea frankly do a complete 180 with 11 like 10 did on 9 so its not imitating. love em all

@TheValiantBob this is why de who is the ultimate tv show you can make a spin off of EVERY story pretty much. i hope Jenny comes back too. i mean c'mon the Doctor has aDAUGHTER out there somewhere. i was half convinced River song was going to be Jenny since the moff himself persuaded the writer of the Docotr's Daughter to NOT kill her off at the end (and by that point i think he knew he was going to be taking over). It'd b awesome if she returned cos with the 11th Dr is practically her age

@10thdoctorwhoandK9 Actually he every right to do that to the doctor co's lets face it, everytime time something kicks off after a situation he's always the first to run off. If someone runs away after a situation they were involved in and chooses not to look back or talk about it it's normally because they don't want to face up to what they've done. In this situation Davros had him cornered and he couldn't run off, he had to face the music.
