lol i just do it like you explain it but i in the first steps when you create some kind of circle with the elliptical tool and then you clic on the forground color you choose then light blue to fill it right! i do just the same i create the ellips and i go to forground to choose light blue then i clic ok and the forground color becomes gray not light blue?

Something isn't right here.. when I was working on the "Aurora" layer & I did free transformation to tilt the image it wouldn't quite tilt for me. It kept on going big & small, I mean like each time I went to the corners & moved just a lil it would suddenly go small! Really small. Then on the "Wool" layer using the smudge tool.. it just won't work either?? Is there something I'm missing, a step I missed, or maybe a setting is on that shouldn't be on? Help please x.x

@wielderXII that's probably because you set the color mode to grayscale... to fix that problem, create a new document (go to File>New) and then when the dialog box pops up look at where it says Color Mode and just change it to RGB... I hope this helps you, when you try this please let me know if it solved your problem... Good luck

I'm confused. I tried to do the mask layering like you said at 5:00 but it didn't work for my computer. I am running Windows and I hit ctrl and shift and then hit the layers 1,2,3,and 4 at the same time but it didn't work it didn't select anything at all and I am running Photoshop CS5.

REPLY PLEASE: so i used the filter and blurred it to 100 pixels but for some reason why blurr is as smudged as yours... its moree concentrated so the colours dont blend as well.... like you can still clearly see the shape of the circles.... any idea why thats happening... im using cs5 btw :) thanks

I think you blurred it BEFORE you did the deselect step? happened to me too. so if you created the circel with color, first press ctrl+d to deselect (or command +d on the mac ;) ) and if you deselected it (the lines around it will dissapear) you can do the blur effect.
