  • that sounds like your timing chains

  • @TheDnny123 mk3 intake mani, not mk4

  • Always let the car idle for atleast 5 minutes upon start before you do anything.

  • About how long after the install was this video takin ? Me and my bubby just did a cam and lifter install and you have to let it idle for 45 min after its done with out touching the throttle at all. They sounded just like that and eventually stopped and were dead silent.

  • you are supposed to let it idle to allow the hydraulic lifters to pump up with oil. I recently did a complete rebuild of my vr6 and it sounded the same on first start up.

  • I wish you made a video of the rebuild :(

  • your comment gave me hope just installed autotech cams and got the same sound gonna let it idle for 45 minutes and see what happens :D

  • deffinetly not chains

  • you prob bent a valve man...

  • The last rev was the best.

  • haha, you guys don't know what chains sound like do you, this is definitely not chains, there are rods in the intake manifold, when u open the throttle they start banging because they are loose. This is a common problem with the 2000 and up VR6 motors, i don't know how it happened to yours.

  • well you don't know your vw's. this is a 12 valve which does not have the intake rod.

  • thats why i said 2000 and up

  • lol, I love the comments here. If you don't know what chains sound like DON'T say its chains. This video was from a week AFTER the chains and cams had been replaced. The lightweight lifter/cam combo never wanted to quite down. The power steering pump was making the noise at idle. The engine has since quieted down and runs great. BTW, this video is of my car.

  • sweet post a new vid of it sounding good :D

  • hahah sounds like my car

  • this is exactly how my vr sounded right befor it threw a rod bearing

  • it all depends on the make of car american and canadian made corrado s have a 2.8 ltr but the few made euro corrados are 2.9 ltrs

  • Chains and guides need to be replaced. Did mine a few monthgs ago. You are on borrowed time. Do it ASAP!!

  • that doesn't sound right to me

  • the euro corrado had a 2.9L vr.

  • i figured the car was built with american parts. thanks for the info tho!

  • Yikes!!!!!

  • is this vr6 2.9L or 2.8L ?

  • This is a 2.8L engine. All VR's are 2.8 unless it is the .:R32 which has a 3.2L engine.

  • they did a 2.9l VR in the corrado remember?
