Boy, it's really a shame she never put out a solo album in the wake of her exit from It's A Beautiful Day. I can offer no explanation for the success of the first album other than her presence.
Sounds like she listened to Vince Guaraldi and had classical influences as well. She could have done "New Age" albums easily.
She sang so well, loved the simplicity of the arrangement. Like that part where she double-tracks "dead" in a minor-second. Like the high flute against the low power of the bass and left hand of the piano. The exit coda with the guitar strums and her stacked la-la vocal at the fade. Thanks for putting this up. I still owe you a copy of my CD.
