Yeah but notice that the caption reads "playing drums along to" which generally means jamming, improvising, and playing what you normally wouldnt to build skill instead of just the same driving beat. If you can keep a more complicated thing in time (which doublebass could work on a little bit) then youll have no prob playing the easier beats when they are needed for live performances.
I think it´s great i like it when there are some clips with simple things and no posing. simply a good song played that everyone can see how it´s played
Just like the quarterback is always the star of the football team? The Pitcher always the hero of the baseball game? A band, is equally as important as the members that make it up. There wouldn't be a Axl Rose without a Slash and there sure as hell wouldn't be a Mick Jagger without a Keith Richards. So if there was a point missed, you pointed that out. I pointed out another point missed, one that you missed.
I agree that less is usually better...but not always. It takes a really good drummer to play fast to a slow song and make it fit without ruining the general feel of the song. you have to know when to let up a bit. It's a very fine line when it comes to 'overdrumming' I think. All drummers should indeed try to simplify and learn discipline... until they get really good anyway.

should keep steady on the eights. fills and double bass clutters up the song a lot.

oh, and the double bass crap is pretty the opposite of what you should be playing...
oldguitars 2 years ago
why do people put crap like this up? nobody wants to hear you fumble along with a classic recording!
oldguitars 2 years ago
I think what oldguitars is saying is that you're not catching the feel for this song at all...

so many stupid comments on this, bottom line is that your freaking good dude. keep playing...
thewall1971 3 years ago
You have TOTALLY missed the point. YOU are not the STAR...the singer is!
Please try to learn this most fundamental of facts. Support with solid drums...less is better! especially in your case.

You are absolutely right! On reading my comment, I certainly didn't express my thoughts very well.
I was really trying to get your pont across that the playing on this video detracts from the overall song.
I found it very busy and stilted.
Thanks for putting me right!
Cheers.

In that case, I agree with you. May I apologize for taking it the wrong way. Have a good one dude, ;)
