  • Getting the alto line for this song right was an absolute pain in the ass! Sounds amazing though.

  • good job. you could get more views if you add add the arranger's info in the tags. It's John Rutter.

  • the men look really uncomfortable in their costumes! :D but the music is great

  • I think you did a fine job! I would be proud to have you singing for my church or concert. When I was in chorus in high school, our teacher was snotty and a prefectionist, she would had never allowed babies or small children there to "Ruin her concerts) But I see nothing wrong with small children listening to the beautiful music.

  • very well executed. Make sure however, that you pronouce the consonants more clearly....almost "over pronounce" them. And make sure you are in the right pitch at all times. Over all, good, but I heard you getting sharp here and there. Nothing that a little more practice cant solve

  • What school was this?

  • Lovely my dear : ) But a rather strange selection for a renaissance themed choir! Very nice singing though!

  • What a neat school choir!

  • I always loved this song. Great job! You have a very distinct and lovely voice.

  • nice voice ('n love the gown 2) :-)

  • Congratulations! You have an angelic voice, I'm into hard rock but that doesn't mean I'm unable to appreciate choirs or Renaissance musical fusions. If you're so good at this early age you'll probably make 'leaps and bounds' in the future. Keep up the good work!

  • @Toottycat Thank you very much for your comment. And it's so nice to see someone who appreciates all forms of music :)

  • @Toottycat

Just to be pedantic, the song actually springs from Appalachian Folk sources.

  • Thanks!

    I subscribed!

  • @ILUVZPOPCORN1710 Thank you :)

  • I am only 10 and I have to sing the solo at th beggining for choir in May Wish me luck!

  • @ILUVZPOPCORN1710 Wow! I hope it goes well. "Break a leg" :)

  • Nice...

  • I just wonder

there out under the sky, any wee thing, all the host of angels singing, and the best the Big Guy could manage was the death of his only Son. That's the best he could do? I wander as I wonder.

  • I like the costumes!

  • I like this one I think it's my favorite christmas song.

  • You augment your beautiful voice with a lovely expression and speaking gestures.

  • i would recommend along with diction, to come in stronger at the beginning of the note. this would help with the flow of the melody and diction as well. great tone!

  • gorgeous voice

  • I can't wait til my choir's christmas concert this year =] i'm going to be opening that song with the solo and i'm so excited! (if u want to reply send a msg to my other account, PeachPit1080)

  • What is with the costumes? And the mic?

  • @christinaschonbach88 We're dressed in Renaissance period clothing for a concert and feast that our school holds each year for Christmas. As for the mic, it was part of the church's sound system.

  • great job. and i agree with abigailjewel on getting more consonants out there. still a great job. this makes me miss my high school madrigals :)

  • You have a beautiful voice and your intonation was great! I agree--SCHOLARSHIP! The only criticism I have (which isn't a criticism at all--more like a little side note) is that in your next performance, you might focus a bit more on the consonants when you sing. Your vowel sounds were beautiful and vowel shape was great, but some of the consonants were almost lost. The consonants can be bigger--it will feel funny to do, but will make the diction clearer. You have a beautiful voice!

  • wonderful..my schools jr.high ensemble...u dont need critisism,more like a scholarship,,lol

  • I thought Rutter and the Cambridge Singers had a perfect soloist and arrangement for this. And you sound almost exactly like her. And the arrangement seems almost note for note what Rutter used. It's really something. Great job.

  • Thank you so much! I just love Rutter and the Cambridge Singers

  • I'm loving that dress;)

  • If you want to play this song on your cell phone. Here are the numbers to play it on your keypad. the forward slash denotes mesure lines. 3/ 6366876/ 53123/ 636876/ 87663/ 636876/ 87653/ 63668*6/ 8632.

  • Brava, cara!

Very expressive and a beautiful voice.

    Also the choir is fantastic.

    Congratulations!

  • cool. was that madrigols???

  • yup :]

  • its ok but you guys need to blend a bit more. It sounds like you guys just practiced it a few times and sang it not bothering to fix weather one was louder than the other. But other than that, GREAT JOB! :D

  • i think you should have done a lighter tone but still nice=)

  • nice job Soprano!! your high notes are really nice. that mic isn't good quality though. shame.

  • she is very good though

  • she didn't use her diapham on that one high part

  • This is great!

  • This will be my first comment on anything. I have to say I was so moved by the ringing clarity of her voice as Maureen sang, that I listened to it four times and enjoyed it more each time.

  • This is beautiful! Post some more vids! :D

  • I have never heard this sung so purely! You are amazing!

  • WOW

  • great job! do you remember who arranged this version, by any chance?

  • Hm. We sang this song a year ago. I'm sorry, I don't remember who arranged this version.

  • Or school sang this song lol. We have this event called the madrigal dinner where our higher choirs sing songs like these in costume while people eat ^^ it sells out ever year. You sounded amazing.

  • Beautiful! One of the best versions of this song on youtube.

  • Amazing!!!

  • beautiful

  • wow! you have a really pretty voice!

  • Your singing of that old american carol was beautifull

    please keep singing

    con

  • really good! we are singing this song in my high school choir for the christmas concert. this is the best version, some of the other versions on here don't have the "lu la by" that makes the song really great.

  • Great job on the solo! I think the annunciation could've been better, and there was one pitch problem when you went up to the high note, but other than that it was good. =)

I wish I could've seen you guys at Renaissance last year! Hopefully I can go this year. ._. ( I can't remember if you're a senior or a junior or graduated now though... )

    Good Luck with everything!

  • Beautiful voice!

Although, if there can be more continuity between words, it'd be even better.

  • This is very beautiful

  • Madrigal choir? :]

    Beautiful voice, great job.

  • Not being rude at all, but are the costumes for a special reason. great sound by the way. better than many pro choirs I've heard

  • It's for a Renaissance feast we have for our school

  • wow its julia haahahahaha damn girl i love your solo.... lol and theres me in the monk suit biyatch.

  • Julia, I love you girl, you're so amazing. I'd be great if you got a role in the Hobbit :D

  • Oh Julia, I love you! :D Your solo was excellent, but I wouldn't expect anything else from you!
