part of me is wondering why i love this performance and the Takemitsu performance from the same show, yet the Chopin leaves me "empty". It's not Maria (who plays all 3 brilliantly, and I eagerly anticipate seeing the Debussy piece next) - it's the music itself. I wonder if I'll never know why I love the 20th Century (in Classical Music) so much...

Those are some pretty smooth transitions between the crescendoing trills and the parts afterward. Most performances have rather choppy transitions.
