I have found bigger not to be better. I have found that 4 ads IS better than 1, but I have also found that 12 ads is NOT better than 4 ads. It's all about math. But bigger is not better when it comes to the amount of adblocks. Sorry.

"Sometimes" is indeed the right word... in our case the smaller adUnits appeared to be the one collecting most money (its best to identify each type of advertisement on your site, and track the profits for each group and deciding which ones is best in your case).
