The original song was written and performed by O-Zone, who are Moldovan and lived in Moldova. The song was released in Moldova long before it was released in Romania. The only connection it has to Romania is that it's sung in Romanian, which is basically what is spoken in Moldova. I would say I disagree with you. A 2 minute Wikipedia search told me all that.
