@acealexander702 If you listen to some dialog with the woman drinking too much at the bar in the Mojave outpost with "Intelligence 6+", the Wanderer will tell her, that it's an NCR Ranger (the one from this movie standing beside a NCR flag) and another NCR soldier (forget which one) shaking hands. ;)

So basically I knew the truth behind the soldier after a couple of hours in the game, and it's not a big secret to anyone with Intelligence 6+. :)

The mysterious guy at the end is probably a good guy, Its like in the first trailer of fallout3 when they zoom out off the bus and you see a brotherhood of steel Knight.

Now watch at the flag he is holding there stands upon it ; california. The brotherhood of had cut of themselves from the brotherhood in california so it's possible this figure is a paladin of them.
