  • I did a report about the future and used this song because it describes everything I wrote about

  • Should have let the beat ride at the end for 30 seconds.

  • Sadistik is not the god of poetry, its necro rap or well atleast "the balancing act" sounded like necro rap, i dont know if he has anything new out. Grieves is nice and budo has been working with Mack since his first album dropped out i think. Damn.. i think i need to find some new faces :D

  • @drumhaven If blue scholars would be mainstream they would be signed already but instead they try to get out the new album by our support, the fans not some label that would totally fuck up the songs.

Really check the link in description and spare 5 bucks to get something amazing out there. Macklemore needs help makin a new video aswell so yeah. Help geo and mack :D

  • Great!

  • you would expect alot more views Great song!

  • Blue scholars are so damn good!!

  • @drumhaven what???? when did they go mainstream?

if they did go mainstream they would have to dumb down their lyrics so everybody can understand them

  • OWL CITY SUCKS BLUE SCHOLARS ROCK!

  • I must say that I'm surprised that someone could rap to this song. It really doesn't seem...rappable. IDK. I keep thinking Adam Young is gonna sing somewhere in this song. lol

  • @bkhcoppertop the original sucks and the only reason you should ever want to listen to the beat is this song.

  • @Limjucas8396 Dude really. . . back off he's ball this music is to brang people together. SO STFU aslong as he like it that all that matters. Giving us Bad names if your going to do this shit go Listen to lil wayne or what ever the rap losers like now adays.

  • @deathangelsakura youre pretty much right. i just cannot stand owl city. I wasnt trying to troll or anything. I dont listen to much rap other than northwest hiphop and a few other rappers (chris young is good) sorry for being a prick.

  • @Limjucas8396 Nah Bro, It's all good Sorry We just need to start standing together ya know. That's all Sorry for being a dick my self. Also I dislike Rap Myself Some do have good beats. But Hip-Hops my life.

  • I was at one of the shows when they first performed this :) EVERGREEN!!

  • @midocrimsonfate

oh yes they make their own beats, listen to coffee and snow or motion movement, to name just a few or sabzis best

  • Wth so you guys just rap over already popular songs ? Do you guys make your own beats and music ? if so I would like to hear it

  • @midocrimsonfate dude are you kidding me? Sabzi is one of the best american trained jazz pianist with amazing talent for beats and turntables and Geologic is smooth and savvy spoken word poet. These guys are legit. Check out a song called 50K Deep by them =]

  • @midocrimsonfate I know this is really difficult.. but go to the search bar and type in Blue Scholars. A whole lot of really good music will come up and you can listen to some origional Sabzi beats.

  • this song is soo deep and spoken." the last generation taking nasa tours" phases come and go in our time on earth and its us who make the new times, because we are the future.

  • this is a really good song

  • whats that electronic tune that starts at 1:26 and ends at 1:46 right before he starts singing again from? i have heard it before. i think it from some electronic voice song

  • Can't we all just agree that this song is dope, whoever the beat came from? It's the lyrics that make this song anyways

  • @JHAYSALIBA thats insulting to geo

  • @JHAYSALIBA ...hell...no...

  • @CircularTheory lol hell no to your hell no shit shits 10 times better

  • @bmatul For the record, Geologic is the MC of Blue Scholars, Ra Scion is Common Market.

  • Only one word can describe this song:

    dope .

  • He's obviously just riding the coattails of a more popular artist by jacking an entire song's worth of beats (see: Pitbull). At least he sort of "gets" the original song.

  • @piroteknix Are you fucking joking?? Pitbull takes a pop song and throws an eighteen second verse on it, then rereleases it as "his". This is an entirely new song. People don't listen to this because they like "Firefly" for fucks sake, they listen to it 'cause RA Scion is a dope fucking mc with kickass lyrics and the brand-new beat in the background is ill.

Sampling is one of the oldest techniques in hip-hop music. If you don't like it then maybe you should stick to your top 40 where its safer.

  • @bmatul First; this is HARDLY a new song. If you played the first 10 seconds to any 14-year-old girl in America today, she's say it was Fireflies. In fact, take out the rapping and this song is nearly identical to Owl City song for the first full minute, right up until the chorus. Second; of course people don't listen to THIS rap song because they like THAT electropop song, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt Blue Scholars at all. It's more likable to a mainstream audience simply because the beat is

  • @bmatul familiar. I only know about this song and Blue Scholars because they sampled Fireflies, and I'm sure that goes for more than just me. Third, I like sampling, and I don't mind hip-hop. But there's a difference between sampling and jacking an entire beat. This song crosses it. And finally, I hardly listen to what would be considered Top 40, and it's a fallacy to both assume that that's what I listen to, and to call me out (falsely) in such an accusing manner.

  • @piroteknix you need to grow a fucking pair of balls. this is a good song and for the people that dont think that the normal fireflies is good, blue scholars made a new remix that is likeable to hip-hop fans. they did something that techno has been doing for a extremely long time, take the beat, add or get rid of things and then put new lyrics over all of it, piroteknix you have no idea what you are talking about so please dont try and be all high and mighty.

  • @missmurder1901 First, if anyone needs to learn what he or she is talking about, it's you; what does growing a pair of balls have to do with a hip-hop song sampling an electropop song? My original argument was that Blue Scholars is using a much-more popular song to gain popularity, which I still believe to be true. Second, I listen to plenty of electronic music and some hip-hop; I'm no stranger to sampling. However, rapping over another's beats, a la Lil Wayne or Pitbull is NOT sampling.

  • @piroteknix I realize it's been a while since you commented, but just to set the record straight. I do not believe they sampled it to gain popularity for several reasons:

Most importantly, the reason why they sampled this song at all is that it is partly about (and dedicated to) a girl who was drunk and singing it the last time they saw her, If it was some indie song they knew, it wouldve been that song.

Additionally, they only played this song at a couple shows and never put it on an album

  • @piroteknix also, if you listen to their other music, you will learn that this song is an anomaly and when they used to use samples, they would usually sample some pretty obscure things and then chopped those songs up until you could barely recognize the source. Sampling something to gain popularity simply is not their style.

  • @kebvin Fair enough.

  • @bmatul its geologic get your facts right if you want to start shit

  • I like this version MUCH better than the original!

  • blue scholars are unreal!

  • Wow! This proves that the Blue Scholars truly are magic, they actually turned crap into gold! Great song, much better than the original by that faggy Owl City shit.

  • @omegamanGXE anything can be turn twisted into anything. imagination ftw :P

  • @omegamanGXE so true!

  • @omegamanGXE Ummm, HELL NO.

  • @omegamanGXE umad brah?

  • Taking a horrible song (This is my opinion only) into a sick remix..another one of the countless dope songs produced by true hip hop artists.

  • sick song
