Hampton Roads is lucky to see not that many strong storms. Mostly we have regular storms and 2 or 3 strong storms per year. They usually occur during the summer time.
I live in Clay county, Indiana and our tornado watch just expired. We were under a severe thunderstorm about 2 hours ago and it was capable of producing 70MPH winds, but all we got was extremely heavy rain and some wicked lightning and thunder. The second round is supposed to arive later this evening. I can't wait!!! =)
Norfolk and these areas always get the strong storms
Williamsburg NEVER does!!! The James River ALWAYS breaks them up, makes me mad!!!
I love thunderstorms and they never make it to my house. Just like tonight, a strong line of thunderstorms hit Richmond, Petersburg, Charles City and broke them up right when it came to James City County
Hey, I went through this storm. I live in Southampton County and was in the high school and they held us back and then the power went out, started hailing, and we had to get into tornado position for about 20 minutes in the halls... scary
On April 2011 we had 70 mph wind gusts for are severe storm
