nice song dude. yeah this is bullshit. blasts your speakers for second after silence, then the compressor kicks in. i cant even enjoy music with that shit.
Several people have asked for an mp3 so they can hear what I uploaded. I can't put a link here, but just go to ccalam . com and the link is in the first paragraph.
I made the mp3 by taking the audio from the video I uploaded (which was 320kb/s mp2) and encoding it with as mp3 with lame -V 1.
It's supposed to be. They're call dynamics - loud and quiet part. Unfortunately YouTube thinks that all music should sound like the pap on the radio - compressed to death to pump the loudness way up there, destroying any sense of delicacy.

You have to see it from this way: "The idiots at YT" (end of quote) are just trying to comply with mobile use of YT.
Since mobile speakers are so low-quality, everything has to be cranked up so that it sounds averagely well on the portable device.
It's modern times. YT has finally agreed to fight with the warriors of the LOUDNESS WAR.
(see Wikipedia article about this too)

I noticed my video uploads had terrible audio quality...I guess this explains it.

So how'd you bypass the crazy YouTube compression? Your other video is normal and how to upload it as such is what people should be demanding.
disasterpastor45 3 years ago
He put in a 19kHz sine wave throughout the video, so that YouTube doesn't try to "normalize" it.

So where'd he get a 19 khz sine wave and how'd he add it?

I'd still like a link to a reference sample for comparison. For all that I know it was just recorded this poorly.

I have noticed this, too. It's really annoying.

Add &fmt=18 to this url for stereo. Sounds better but loud.
