But plz, could you tell me what are the keys to use items to custom the ball... I try to play on "Saint" atari 520 st emulator but i cannot do anything exept shoot and move... :-(
I always thought the C64 version was best, and have played all versions other than the Amstrad CPC one. It just seemed to have the most fluid and responsive controls, plus the Martin Galaway music was awesome!
why does everyone like the C64 version better? The graphics are much better on the Atari / Amiga, im prob just biased cos i had the atari one when i was a kid tho. Just like you older folks are biased towards the C64 one!
I was a huge fan of the C64, and think that alot of the C64 games were better than the Amiga. However i can`t agree with you on Wizball the sound and graphics were much more superior on the Amiga.
Amiga version has easily better soundfx/music than c64 ver. Amiga version's bonus stage music is insanely good :) And all those sfx like cat's licking/drinking sound, magicliquid drop sound etc... so nice :)
You're seriously having a laugh there mate. This version is absolutely terrible compared to the FAAAR superior C64 original. What's with the feckin snare drum for a gun shot noise? WTF? Did any thought whatsoever go into any of the sound design here? Not much. Trust me, if you only ever played it on C64 originally before ever seeing this, you'd know what i'm talking about. The sound FX here're complete rubbish up against the mighty SID music & sounds in the C64 version.I'll say, nice GFX though.
wizball owned on c64. It's the sensi-soft magic.. there are loads of games on c64 I preferred to than the amiga ones.. buggy boy, bionic commando, armalyte are 3 that come to mind straight away.
Right on mate, right on. I am still passionate about the mighty C64, and have even purchased some superb new games for it just recently. I do love the Amiga too though, and still own my A500, and A1200, but the lord of them ALL was, is, and always will be the mighty Commodore 64 :-D
Sorry but I do like amiga version's sound+gfx more than c64. Of course that's the version which I played from 1989-> when I got my A500. Nothing wrong in SID, it's nice, but from games(sfx+gfx+gameplay wise) I prefer mostly Amiga versions. (cos they're faaar superior ;)
There is a way to play it now....there's several Amiga emulators you could use to play it on PC, and plenty of info available to you online, should you need help setting things up too. Also, plenty of sites where you can download all the disk images of MMAAAAAAAANY classic Amiga games from yesteryear, it's all good :)
I wouldn't go as far as to say everyone elses opinion is "wrong", everyone is entitled to their own opinioin, but I completely agree with you when you say the C64 version is the best one. The C64 version had the most fluid controls and the best music.
im sorry, but i LIKE the amiga version! XD i played it constantly with my brother when we were younger. i'd still play it if the emulator worked properly -_-. it brings me many, many happy memories watching this. thankyou so much <3
I've said it once, & probably more than once now, but go on then, i'll say it again. The Commodore 64 rules, there's so many stunning games that were truly way ahead of their time back then, & were awesome to play, & remain so to this very day. Wizball being one example of how truly amazing the 64 can be, this Amiga version pales in comparison to the mighty C64 version. The sound, graphics, gameplay are just waayyy better on the 64, simple as. So yeah i'll stick up for the 64 version ;)
Why is the guy not shooting the paint drops before collecting them? He'll kill off the Cat doing that. And yeah, despite the better graphics, this version seems a bit sucky without the classic Wizball music
Dammit, what keys are used to use the icons on the top on the screen, i just don't get it =(

No parallax scrolling stars? Boring.

Yeah, the Amiga conversion was kinda lazy and dull in its execution. The original 64 game was much more impressive.

The Atari St version has background SFX (sample and hold, white noise synthesis to be precise)

Used to love this game on the Atari ST

The music score it´s better in C64, i don´t mean technically, i mean the composition. The Martin Galway´s work it´s unbeatable.

the bonus stage music is out of tune and wierd on the amiga.
If you want to hear what the amiga music for this game is supposed to sound like try the atari version.

You can't beat the C64 version. The Amiga version's music spoils the game. There should have been a rendition of Galway's original title music.

Yep the 64 version was way better. Not really an amiga game!

This version seems to be lacking.
Anyone gonna stick up the c64 version?

I think I worked out what this version is lacking.... The sound effects that sound like aliens in the background when you play through the levels.

The best version of this game is whatever version you played as a kid.
Unless it was the DOS version.

The best version is the C64 version ;) and it's the version I not only played as a kid, but still play even as a big kid :-D
Ironlord2015 2 years ago
for you maybe for me its the Atari version (which is indisputably the best from a technical standpoint)
Though I'm sure if my dad had a c64 not an Atari ST I would be agreeing with you.
