  • He plays great/excellnet regardless, this is a very difficult one, and still he plays great!

  • he is really good. I've been listening to his piano playing since 3rd year high school. It might be nice if I can get the chance to meet him.

  • My first time ever seeing him and I'm left sitting here in awe with a blank screen just as he is walking out on the stage? All the hard work! The unbearable stress I felt as he was about to go out and perform, and it ends! This is all new to me. There are so many videos of him, but which one is the second part or I hope there is a second part! I will search them all because I need to see the final result of this amazing person who has lit a spark in my music world that only contained jazz!

  • yundi is so special~~and cute~~lovely

  • Great talent!

  • 小澤さんが「You look like 30」って言ってるんですか?

  • este hombre es impresionante!!!! una fuente de inspiración ....

  • Master with Master!!

  • O.o I found paradise! :D

    This video!!!! ;)

  • 3:13 haha wine before concert?

  • This is the best album I bought this year. Buy it, it's absolutly amazing ! And thanks for the video !

  • most annoying part? music playing while he's playing. I'm just like... wahhh....????

  • one old friend conductor, one new friend pianist, one extra ordinary piece played with passion and strength

when something like this happens my spine has an electrified glissando. My hair stands on end. Time to take a walk and calm down. Thanks again, tuberner

  • @goodguysdoll seriously, I've seen your comments on several Yundi Li vids now.. What do you have against him? Seems to me you're just hating on him to be hating, and for no other reason. Seems pretty pathetic to me.

  • @goodguysdoll haha alright you kissin's fan, and insane is the way you talk about him.

  • Bravo!!!

  • prokofiev's pieces are somehow just epic

  • just saw him in Norway, freakin' amazing!! I loved his expression, passion, interpretation and musicality

  • i dont know why i smiled too

  • his face goes from :D to :( in like half a second at 2:34

  • Наверно, это и Горовцу бы понравилось...

  • yundi li is absolutly better than lang lang ...

  • wou! what a magical pianist

  • Musical high at 3:50

  • Yundi Li est un homme passionné et passionnant ! Il nous offre des parenthèses de pur bonheur et je le remercie chaleureusement !!!

  • 3:31 <------ The final battle is ON.

  • Stupid Question: Which concerto is this?

  • @LovelyCYR Prokofiev #2

  • @burjreview thanks

  • I feel the need to re post another comment on giving this guy so much credit. that last clip when he enters the stage and they open the door..God i know how that feels like, makes you want to faint! YUNDI LI!!!!!! i got the biggest butterflys from watching this!

  • I can imagine how nervous he was...Just watching this video i was nervous

  • I mean watch them LIVE

  • Eh only if u watched Lang Lang or any other pianists FIRST, then you can comment on them. :)

  • What a fantastic guy!

  • The difference between yundi li and lang lang is that lang lang boasts all the time, makes funny faces while performing, and when he talks to the media he tries to act like a 50 or 60 year old man with so much experience.. but yundi li doesn't need to act, because his abilities and performance speaks for its self. he doesn't need to boast or show off, he is so natural, down to earth, musical... i can't find the right words to express...

  • looooooveeeeeee yundi, hes my inspiration

  • yes, wow how many notes.... he should use different words according to situations. ;-)

  • @silverbud ?

  • muy bueno

  • i love ozawa and li both.

they are really warm and sincere.

  • I absolutely love him. The greatest pianist of these times, in my opinion...

    And he has beautiful hands.

    Love him. <3

  • ozawa was so cute!

  • God... I really love Yundi Li!!!!!

  • I salute your genius

  • EL ES GENIAL!!!

  • This is totally irrelevant to him as a phenomenal pianist but I must say it: he has great hair.

  • the hair is everything

  • Thank you for posting this BEAUTIFUL video!!! Come to think of it, Seiji Ozawa was born and raised for his first few years in China. Toward the end of this video, Yundi Li and Ozawa did converse jokingly a simple phrase in Mandarin! Again, it is so beautiful at so many levels... Thank you!

  • Li Yun Di ROCKES

    AND HE PWNS LANG LANG!

  • couldnt have said it better myself.

  • I'm not a musician but I would get a heart attack if I had to wait 30 min before giving a huge debut.

  • Wow his english is really really good! I wasn't expecting that at all :O

  • Il est extraordinaire. !

  • *****

  • Much respect.

  • i like yundi li so much .. he is a really great artist

  • i wish i was apart of something like that.

  • Ozawa seems like a great guy.

  • So modern.. yet so romantic.

The andantino in Mvmt. 1 is just too beautiful for words.

  • The conductor knocked on the wall b4 they went on stage xD

  • Oh... his music is as beautiful as him =P

  • 太晚了 hahaha too late

  • that was very good

  • What??? DG dropped yundi Li? When? I wonder why?

  • Holy shit, he's skinny.

  • ye he seems to be quite short as well..... but he's got real big hands

  • 太慢了 lol

  • is 太晚了

  • Yundi = <3

  • Who composed to the piece he's preparing for?

  • Prokofiev - wonderful, intense music, some of which is "to be played after your romantic life has been shattered, you have not slept for several days, and you have overdosed on caffeine to keep awake," according to one pianist I met. XD

By the way, does anyone know exactly why Deutsch Grammophone dropped Yundi Li? >.> I want more CDs...

  • sold not enough cds...

but that pianist must be funny person =)

  • @SeitanoShuuki Lang Lang forced DG to drop Yundi. It is ironic that LL left DG for Sony. I despise that clown LL with passion even though I am Chinese. Yundi is a real artist.

  • @garr711 You don't say... That's rather despicable, I agree. I'll concede that Lang Lang's technique is absolutely brilliant, but in my opinion, he plays too much for himself and not enough for the audience.

Well, don't feel bad for being Chinese and despising Lang Lang (I'm more or less the same). Yundi Li just completely redeems us, though. XD

  • @garr711 我討厭朗朗,當它沖出去試圖暴利對待它認為不利於它的裁判的時候!

  • @garr711 i'm shocked to hear this

  • prokofiev.. 2nd piano concerto

  • I was always so scared before getting out on the "stage",before I sat on the chair and started playing, but when I started to play my fear would always go away ^^ I get nervous looking at him as well :O

  • Mixed feelings with this video! On the one hand I do appreciate it was made because it is a rare glimpse into the pre-concert preparation. Thanks to penguinpuss for posting it! On the other hand, it reminds me of when I used to perform: those pre-concert half hours (or longer) seemed to last forever and actually made me sick. I hated those periods, whether before concerts or competitions! It was with only some regret that I switched careers. Phew!

  • I hated those periods too!! It's soo stressful!

  • tai wan le(太晚了), haha

  • why i felt nervouse when i see this? hahaha

  • oh my.. my palm are sweating lol

  • OMG I share his nervousness. O_O That aside, I bought the album; it was wonderful. XD I do wish he'd perform more these days, though. >.> Depriving us of wonderful music. What sin. >.>

  • 'not his fault, dg released him from the contract. they had "marketing" issues

  • @penguinshin I don't know. It's widely reported that Lang Lang forced DG to drop Yundi

  • he's e best

  • Wow I want to listen this one

Watch his show is so excitied.

  • you like him better because he actually IS better...!;-)

  • wow Piano Concerto no.2 in G minor Prokofiev....it's very Hard

  • Tu pones dos artistas de cine de renombre y no son capaces de expresar e interpretar las escenas que aparecen en este video. Un 10 para el productor y para 2 artistas con MAYÚSCULAS. ¡Me saltan las lágrimas!

  • I personnally like him more than Lang Lang

  • Comment removed

  • @beaver7756 I personally dislike Lang Lang too much to even compare to Yundi's magnificence

  • @beaver7756 totally. same here. much much better than lang lang! yundi's got truth and beauty in his music. and the way he plays is just so fluid and clear and touching. not like lang lang, over showy and fake.

  • @beaver7756

Lang Lang personally like money and fame

  • I think Yundi Li is the best pianist, he plays with passion that I never saw, I love him!!

  • I like him, but not as much as Zimerman or Blechacz or Argerich who plays with passion more than all pianists

  • @michal1810 OMG SOMEBODY WHO DOESN'T COMPARE HIM ONLY TO LANG LANG!!! :D GOOD ON YOU!!!!!

  • Try listening to Vinnitskaya's version of this piece, the immense power of the interpretation simply blew me away, it kind of reminds me of the air of electricity you sense when Yundi played his Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 in the Chopin Competition...

  • heard it. i still prefer Gutierrez tho

  • ユンディ最高(*^_^*)

  • Wow, two giants working together, what a precious moment. I love both of them, two of the top musicians in the world.

  • i love it xD !!! simply admirable 5 stars !(*****) and just WONDEFULL LIFE, pure happiness.

  • 3:40 is what music is all about

  • he reminds me of L in death note... even his name is 'L'i Yun Di too...

  • At 3:48 I swear I can hear a choir...

  • I like 3:48 moment the most. You are right I can hear choir too.

  • I can't hear it, but it's still a good piece.

  • Haha :p

  • it's the strings that you're hearing, it does sound a lot like voices though.

  • Haha love Ozawa.

  • 1:50min <-- hey yundi, don't scratch ur neck like dat

    -__-

  • Wow 李云迪

    love him.

They said "too late" at last and "太晚了" in Chinese. What's that mean? The time?

  • "Last-minute practise is not gonna change anything."

    They were joking.

  • haha i love how he teachers sings along...

  • that's the director :)

  • i would so piss my pants to walk up that stage and give such hardcore performance. That is incredible~

  • wow crazy he just doesn't stop playing piano if there is one around. what dvd is this?

  • I like the old man JIJI ^^.

  • I heard Busoni Piano Concerto is Also Difficult

  • Oh man... that must be scary walking up on stage like that, then having to play a beast concerto!

  • Yundi Li is my favorite pianist. <3

    hes really cute too ^^

  • i knoww! he's so cute lol XD

  • sure is my fav pianist too!!

  • The power of classical music, not only does it bring Arab with Jews but Chinese with Japanese!!!

  • prokovief suits his steely sound-cute young man

  • OH YEAH OZAWA

  • He's so so good and so so musical yet somehow i can't feel excited for the some of the songs he plays. There're several times he brought me down from the climax!! Anyway, he's a good pianist.

  • first off, it's a guy, therefore your opinion is worthless because you can't differenciate between the two sexes of your own raise. Also that is YUNDI Li who is sensational and this is no exception, hoho hehe at u

  • "you can't differenciate between the two sexes of your own raise."

    haha XD

  • i hope you're kidding right?

  • he is a chinese Pianist.he was born chongqing city which near my hometown.

  • wow, he's so cute. I thinked he's a Korean star at the very first time when i saw him :)) I love the way he express the feelings on his face. Absolutely talent :X

  • Designed by Hans Scharoun, that is also one of the most crazy-beautiful modern concert halls in history despite its age. Berlin, city of music!

  • he's so cute when checking his reflection in the mirror...I can't believe he still gets nervous about performing!

  • i love this concerto. and i love yundi li's performance. absolutely fantastic

  • can i have one of those pianos? =\

  • Deutsche Grammophon is going to regret cutting him.

  • they cancelled the contract or something? is he not with deutsche grammophon anymore? why???

  • Damn Deutsche Grammophon..I wonder why did they cut him off??It's sad..I'm shocked once I heard the news..

  • 誰可以告訴我 李雲迪彈的這首曲子

    我超愛這首曲子的

  • OMG

    This is really amazing

    Yundi Li is so amazing...

  • Tout simplement SUPERBE.

    Merci.

  • Oh wow, this was just a delight to watch! They seem to be having so much fun.

  • EXTREMLY talented artist. Thanks for the video.

  • I started piano at the same age he did. I should have kept going.

  • 看了好想哭

    把上台前的氣氛都拍出來了

    跨出舞台的那刻真的需要很大的勇氣和信心

  • Yundi is unbelievably fantastic~~~~~

  • di li so handsome cutecute

  • i can smell ozawa's breathe

  • Prokofiev is fantastic...Yundi Li is a great pianist...

  • i live yundi li he is great

  • yundi is so cute

  • He's so amazing !!Ozawa is amazing too!!!

  • love this video! thanks!!!

  • this is first time i heard him speking english!

  • prokovief suits his steely sound-cute young man :-)

  • why can't the orchestra carry out the performance with t-shirts like in the rehearsal? that'll be fun

    shouldn't be so traditional anymore

  • oh god, I love Ozawa. My friend's mom, who's a classical musician, once worked under his baton for two years. She said he's at once goofy and charismatic. =P

  • He is a really handsome man. Of course, what a FABULOUS pianist. Virtuoso!!!

  • I'm an admirer of Yundi Li, but his understanding of this Prokofiev Concerto still needs to mature. Even with Ozawa's help, Yundi Li does not fully grasped Prokofiev's meaning in this music - what we hear are a virtuosic passages, practiced and learned well, that don't mean anything.

  • I agree, I think Yundi Li is fantastic (Just listen to his chopin... my god) but he's still maturing and hasn't quite mastered this piece.

  • You know, if one hasn't mastered a piece yet, one should not record it because it becomes a permanent record. Not a good thing for him.

  • Yeah, when I heard him play the Prokofiev above it was my 1st time listening to this piece, or in fact any Prokofiev ^^. After listening to Vinnitskaya perform this piece then did I know the potential of beauty of this excellent master piece of music...

  • bravo~~

  • okay yundi li = amazing. in my opinion i disagree with the fact that lang lang is better than him. i think they're are equally great.
