I for one say it's about TIME we got someone like Jennings in there -- schools are INCREDIBLY HOMOPHOBIC places and it's about time we got someone who understands this in there to make some much needed changes. I would like to see 'faggot' become the next 'N' word. It's amazing that kids still get away with this kind of harassment.

Jennings is a converted Muslim, a so called moderate who criticises extremism, what a joke. If he had half a brain he'd understand that extreme religious views are unwittingly condoned by the moderates, by their very existence.

For one min. I would like to lay aside the fact that this man has an agenda dealing with homosexuality. The problem is that his agenda itself outshines any qualifications he may have for his position. The position he is in is about the safety of ALL children. Not just one group. There are serious safety issues within the public school system. While some of them deal with gay students many of them effect ALL students.

To be fair to both parties, here are the numbers... as far as I can tell, G.W. Bush appointed 31 czars, and B. Obama has appointed 32. Of course the 31 for Bush was over the course of 8 years. (For example of that 31, there were five DIFFERENT people who held the position of "AIDS Czar" in 8 years.)

Jennings needs to go. It's obvious he is here to infiltrate homosexuality into public schools under the guise of safe schools. He'll promote "diversity" and "tolerance" days that are gay indoctrination days in disguise. This guy founded the Gay, Straight, and Lesbian Education Network. My greater concern than his specific agenda is the fact that a "safe school czar" has ANY agenda other than a safe and drug free school. I would argue that most kids go through a time of feeling unsafe in the public school system. We need to be addressing gangs in schools, "mean girls" in schools, children who come to school fearful for outside reasons. Not to even mention the MAJOR drug problems that are in our school system. If his agenda outshines these things... THAT is the problem.

This may be the least of Jennings' worries. Lori Roman of Regular Folks United points to statements by Jennings a decade or more ago when he praised Harry Hay of the North American Association for Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which promotes the legalization of sexual abuse of young boys by older men. Jennings wrote the forward "to a book called 'Queering Elementary Education'. And another fellow you may have heard of wrote one of the endorsements on the book jacket—Bill Ayers."
