  • The voice Richard is hearing is gods disapproval lol.

  • dogs that look funny lol so true

  • It is happening, that forced design idea. That whole designer baby controversy.

People can pay to have their material screened for genetic abnormalities, which is good, because it will prevent some birth defects. However, they can also pay to choose gender, eye color, and hair color of their babies.

    Freaky, isn't it?

  • @WolvesBane95 They can choose gender yes, but eye and hair colour is a different issue. Genes are not 'one gene one effect', the same gene which affects eye colour may for example affect the working function of the liver (hypothetically) and it isn't possible, at least yet, to pick and choose which genes are expressed because of the effects it'll have elsewhere. The layout of genes don't unfortunately go in order of 'this section is for eyes' etc. (that would make my studies much easier lol)

  • it's god talking to professor Dawkins; telling him it's too late hahaha

  • Too bad religion is not a curable virus

  • @dubisteindummkopf Isn't it?

  • Richard Dawkins did get one thing wrong, although I think it's understandable to do so.

We have been creating mutations intentionally for a time now, the use of ionizing radiation to induce mutations in agriculture is an established practice and species have been created through this process.

That is to say, mankind has in specific scenarios, taken over the entirety of evolution. Through radiation we have induced mutation, then selected for positive traits.

  • @Jagjamin this interview is over 5 years old.

  • @MrPlatonist The effect of mutagens was shown in 1927, the usage of mutagens to create inheritable traits in foodcrops has been around for decades. The "Star Ruby" grapefruit was created this way in the 1960's

It is understandable for people not to be aware of this, especially five years ago when it was even less publicly known, but the fact remains, this is something that was being used before Dawkins was born. If he's talking about this subject, maybe shold mention it.

  • @Jagjamin well, i dont think that he's talking about vegetables. he's talking about humans. imho that's a lot different

  • @Jagjamin I got the impression he was talking specifically about deliberately mutating our own genes.

  • @TomVodkaCollins If that is the case, I can't really disagree, I've seen nothing to say theres been intentional genetic mutation in humans, apart from some almost definitely fictitious accounts.

  • @Thelordisgayandmerry No he hasn't been, and he's unlikely to be seeing as the Queen is also the head of the Church of England.

  • If there was a modern day Newton or Galileo, It is Sir RIchard Dawkins

  • @motorheadbanger90 I don't think he's been knighted, actually.

  • A little too much I think...

  • XMEN!!!

  • anon orange got on!!!!

  • Richard Dawkins is my intellectual Hero. I love you, Mr. Dawkins.

What does one thing have to do with the other?

  • it's ironic that the top comment has '69' likes

  • @ZZzzzzzWhat How is that ironic? It may be humorous, but ironic?

  • @Howard00Wolowitz '69' is a number with a sexual connotation. it's ironic due to the username, which is self-explanatory.

  • Dawkins hates cross-talk on the radio. lol!

    that's funny

  • Dawkins is hearing a big booming voice in his head? Oh NO!!!!! Quickly, fix him, please for reason's sake.

  • @Mojobo83 LOL! Richard ftw!

  • Is it just my ears or does Penn's voice sound a lot like Mike Turiko?

  • Hahahah I can also hear the what Richard is talking about, its very faint but it does sound like another radio show getting its lines crossed with Penn radio station.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis I don't know how many times you've heard this but your name is awesome bro

  • It's funny how the word "literally" is now used more often to mean the exact opposite of what it actually means.

  • Maybe Penn "literally" had zillions of calls.

  • Ahahaha, people arguing about the "misuse" of 'literaly'... I mean, seriously? What, is this some kind of lame attempt at undermining the points Penn and Dawkins make or are people just that illiterate/bored? xD

  • voice in the background, is the jeesus scizo virus affecting him, lol

  • That last question it seemed like the guy was going into the lead up to the question, and never got to ask the actual question... felt bad for the guy, and curious what the real question was. I like Penn a lot better as a showman then a radio host, he's pretty pushy, barely lets anyone get a word in, even was answering questions for Mr. Dawkins... a bit condecending... and even to people he admires. He's too full of himself. Not that I don't like the guy, just his hosting on this.

  • Misuse of the word "literally" literally makes me vomit up my lungs with rage.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis great username!

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis

It has more than one definition. It can be used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true. It can also be used sarcastically.

    kthx

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis - He used it for hyperbole, get a fucking grip.

  • @cleverandrew123 *facepalm* LMFAO!!!

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis Literally?

  • Comment removed

  • @PatDryburgh Yes literally. I could lierally tell you a zillion things whats wrong with the misuse of that word.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis sarcasm bro

  • @TheZhengmeister Hmm, maybe, I'd say irony.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis, do you realize how true your username really is?

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis The six people who disliked this comment did so to bring the total number of likes closer to 69.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis zillions...

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis I literally agree with you. Figuratively, of course.

  • Hmm, creating new organs. I know he means making hearts and stuff, but I can think of a few novelty organs I might enjoy having. And the calories they'd burn would be a perk, too.

  • @JesusSuckedGayPenis yeah and "zillion" isn't even a real number.

  • @dman519 I'm sure if you constantly add zeros and give a name to each number they'd have to call one zillion lol

  • I doubt very much that they had literally "a zillion" calls. [/pet peeve]

  • @Nndaia They have a zillion assuming "a zillion" is a variable set to the amount of calls they have.

  • @Nndaia He stressed it. Like, you know, you would a 'joke.' I don't think Penn thought they had a "zillion" calls.

  • @VastFarFlung He used the word 'literally'. That's the problem.

  • @Nndaia

Pretty sure that's the joke. It can't be literal because there's no such number.

  • @Nndaia That'ssss the joke.

  • I think that virus idea is interesting, as some fungi(therefore maybe a parasite?) can cause hallucinations, so it can be the cause of the original version of the 'meme'

  • Thanks for posting the radio shows :D

  • That voice in the background was God Mr. Dawkins... just kidding but that's how people start believing in God in the first place... I heard a voice and this is what He said.

  • Long live people with logic and morals.

  • 1.19 "Absolutely"

    Teller?

  • Michael Goudeau

  • @controllerbrain - Nah, its a cunt called Cunty Cuntersaurus... a real cunt!

  • @pubuman

    Wow, your life must suck.

  • @BelfastAtheist ?! Why? My life is pretty awesome actually...
