I thought I would share some info with you that amazed me, and may help you develop your excellent version of this speech even further.

I was doing this sililoquy in rehearsal the other day, and my director informed me of what the 'shuffled of this mortal coil' meant. He had only just found out himself. Turns out, contrary to my beliefs, that it doesn't actually mean to leave earth through death. It means to literally 'shuffle off' or remove the skin from your body.

metaphorically is how I take the phrase. as in the coil of a snake and how he shuffles off his coil. I see it as the spirit leaving the body. Be more specific.
